Might have been posted earlier, but if it was, it's buried somewhere, so tough noogs, if it's germans.

That is good news if true. The people in charge don't plan on screwing around.

It's sad that the buyout may be the only thing keeping him around for another year. They should organize a site for donations to contribute to the buyout.

I would gladly throw in money if it meant LSU got a fresh start next year.

I have heard through a couple of sources that among the candidates Alleva would approach when a search commenced, four constitute the "A" list - TCU head coach Gary Patterson, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, Arizona head coach Mike Stoops and Nebraska head man Bo Pelini

Other than Ferentz I like that list... especially Patterson at the top of it

It continues to amaze me how oblivious a large segment of the fan base was regarding Miles and his lack of coaching and program management skills. I hope the deep pockets can make something happen, waiting might set the program back years if recruiting is impacted the next two signing periods. What a cluster f.

I wonder why they would not be interested in Kelly at Cincy?

Headed to Notre Dame...foregone conclusion.

TW, what are your thoughts on Miles as of right now. I know you were in his corner last week as we discussed it in the "Miles Comparison" thread. What say you now? Just curious...not an attempt to flame. Thanks. (Sorry for Hijack)

Never have understood the fixation with Ferentz.

The article makes mention of Miles and Colorado. Obviously this would be a long shot but is there any word on the other potential candidates for that job?

Notre Dame:
On November 10, FootballCoachScoop had BREAKING NEWS and is the FIRST TO REPORT that Head Coach Charlie Weis would not be retained past the
2009 season and the Irish are firing him at the conclusion of the 2009 season. Our source close to the situation has confirmed that Cincinnati Head Coach Brian Kelly will no longer be on the short list at Notre Dame.

Doc...let me start by apologizing to you personally for deriding you. Les lost me some during the game but that last drive sealed the deal. I am loyal that way, to a fault. If I am going to support someone, I support them until it is time to cut ties. I realize there will be many on here who will flame that comment since this is a football coach and not my employee or someone personal to me; however, I am who I am.

Les need to go. I don't like the personal flaming attacks on the man currently happening on here but to each his own. He has provided enough for rational criticism and to show him the door.

Nice to hear from McKay again, the long lost prodigal son.

If he was truly ousted from his previous job because Miles refused to work with him as pennance for his criticism of DiNardo, LSU should be ashamed.

I too find it impossible to defend the man after this weekend. Before this weekend, I was still holding out hope.

Me too, Sid. Me too. Now I just hope Alleva does this quickly but there is not enough out there to make me feel good that he will actually do so this year. It's kind of like the states that make couples stay separated for a year before they can actually get the divorce over and done with....torture that makes things worse.

Careful.

If, by some chance/change, Miles starts winning and gets a good OC onboard, my guess is people will start climbing back on his wagon.

But, that's a big "if".

Mike Stoops? Hell no. Worse than Dinardo.

McKay has been making claims like this for 10 years. Someone at LSU is always out to get him. I wonder if any of his problems have something to do with the fact that his reputation is that of a thief?
