Many of you have very short memories. When we fired Dinardo it was Nick Saban that had to inform the board that LSU was not the destination job that everyone at LSU thought it was. Get real people. CLM has the best 5 year record in LSU history and has won a national championship. You better get a grip before suggesting we take that leap.

Nick Saban sought at the LSU job at a time we lost 15 of our last 22 games. Destination for him, maybe not. He certainly worked out okay for us at the time though.

The whole "take what we can get, we're LSU" mentality is the exact reason we were in the position when Saban was hired.

Strive for the best otherwise, get the f out of the way.

No, sonnyboy, it isn't. What coach would want to come here? After the treatment given Miles were he to be run off because he was a 10-2 coach?
Yea, they would really be beating the doors down.

You are absolutely right. No one will ever want to coach at LSU because of the treatment Les Miles has gotten. I mean Alabama was sucking Shula off(as well as the 5 coaches before him) prior to hiring Saban. You are an idiot.

yep and those are the same people that defended Retardo til the day he was fired and the same ones that are defending no lesticles. I guess most lsu fans are satisfied being the 3rd or 4th best team in the conference, I am not.

Miles situation reminds me of those commercials for cereal. The animal is always on the run or can just never win just like Miles is with our fan base

We are an Offensive coordinator away from greatness... Preferably one who knows quarterbacking.

didn't stop urban meyer going to florida. LSU is a plum job due to several factors and is right behind Florida in terms of the best programs in the sec.

Superbowl ring coaches does not make great recruiter. As for people who said Les Miles can't recruit. Have you SEEN what ranking we are at in recruiting for the past 2 years and looking to make a third year? Have you?

We are nationally recognized as the top 5 recruiting schools in the nation.

If Miles doesn't fire Crowton after this season, I hope for everything there is in the world that he takes the Michigan job.

Crowton needs to GTFO of BR.

At 10-2 or even 9-3 with a bowl win we need to keep him. That is solid. At 8-4 with a bowl win it would need to be an impressive bowl win. 8-5 though and he has to go. If the bottom falls out (and I don't see that happening), I would like to see us go HARD after Tony Dungy. Just my thoughts though. None of it matters anyway unless my Thanksgiving is ruined by a run of losses. I just don't see it happening.

and we will be like that for a long time due the location we have and the fact that lsu has an ohio state type situation. LSU just needs a 1st rate coach.

And besides a strong recruiting base what does LSU have to offer? Education system is horrible. Political environment is horrible. Business climate is horrible. What is that you think this state has to offer an "elite coach" and his family?

You do realized that Gruden use the West Coast style of Offense right?

coaches are not looking to see if Microsoft would be willing to locate to Baton rouge. They look at several factors: ability to recruit, resources which in terms of football we have alot, and a big fanbase. Plus we are a warm weather school which is the new trend in college football.

For 4 large LSU can hire an elite coach that is on par w/ Saban and Meyer.

we already have one and if RyanP doesn't quit on the team we probably have more crystal on the shelf.

you mean Gruden...yeah right, the same Jon Gruden who drove tampabay into the ground? how quaint...him and Spurrier could have visor wars. What makes you think he could be 49-13 with a natcham in 4.5 years?

That is exactly what this team needed to break the 8 in the box used against us.
