As luck would have it, this is not necessarily how you win a NC.

although I'm sure you think bama is the best team ever assembled, I seriously doubt they beat the tigers by 10. And that offense will have trouble scoring 10 let alone 23.

championship caliber
so enlighten me. What about this team isn't championship caliber? That they don't play "pretty football"? That they haven't hung 50 on anyone this season?

I'd like to get all the morons on this board together and get them to say this to Chad Jones, or P2, or Charles Scott. I guarantee they don't use the words "championship caliber"

What happens after all these comments come out if LSU wins out but finishes 3rd?

This is typically a self fulfilling prophecy. These guys saying now that LSU would obviously be in the NC game if they win out will start convincing voters it is true(fact and not opinion). ESPN is shifting bias towards LSU with these statements.

Did you here we beat Texas for the NC in the College World Series?

I'm aware that it's almost a certainty to happen. Especially if Iowa drops one to Ohio State and Cincinnati loses to whoever they haven't already played out of WVU, Pitt, and South Florida.

Just curious as to the uproar if it didn't fall that way.

I love it that LSU is perceived that way this year considering where they are, how they have played and how they have improved. LSU is somewhat flying under the radar to this point...good place to be IF you are not completely dominating teams and sit at the top with a target on your back.

ETA: I agree we are not a "national championship caliber team" based on stats alone and the lack of totally dominating performances, save the AU and TU games. But that alone does not keep you from taking it all.

They are now setting up the debate for the possibility of LSU winning out. They are just the media doing what the media does...stirring interest with the intent to draw attention, build controversy and hopefully get more people to tune in.

If the we you're referring to is LSU you are an idiot. The only game LSU has lost to is the #1 team in the country. The only touchdown scored by Florida in said game had a missed offensive holding call.

We have won in Seattle (USC Didn't) and won in Athens for the first time in a long, long time.

The offensive line gives up half as many sacks if Jefferson can decide where he's going with the ball. If you've been watching the line has steadily improved the last four games.

That's a tall order on its own. Neither team has faced a team as good as what they are looking at in the next few weeks.

You could argue that Iowa has beaten Penn State, but I like OSU better.
