Best boudin in NOLA

My daughter is flying up this Sat. She's resupplying my Jacobs andouille. Recommendations for some good boudin in the NO area.

i would have her pick some up at either Jacob's or Bailey's while she is down there. New Orleans is not a boudin town. I know Cochon Butcher recently started making it, but i don't know anyone who has tried it, or if it is even any good or affordable.

When I lived in NOLA and surrounding areas I tried a couple of places and gave up. I dont know of anywhere that makes it that is remotely good boudin. My sister lives in the LaPlace area and when my parents visit her they bring her boudin and they return with Andouille. I have tried some of Link's boudin at a function he had and I wasnt too impressed with it. Im sure if you bought it from his place it would be way overpriced too.

yeah, i don't even know if the boudin is any good at Jacob's or Bailey's. I just assumed it was better than stuff in NOLA proper.

the jacob's boudin is ok but not great. probably the best you're going to get from around that area though. couchon might be good though.

Thanks for the replies, guys. She lives in NO and had already picked up the andouille, but they were out of Boudin. Keep in mind, I'm in Tennessee, and I am not as picky as I was back home. I may try to make my own one day.

If he used the same recipe as his cousin that owns the Mowata Store it should be pretty good.

We just moved back here and have been looking for a place to get boudin - hoping for a convenient store that makes it fresh and puts it in a paper bag -that type place, so there isn't one? that is what i gather from this thread.

NOLA Grocery (gets it from Laffy area) and Butcher.
Boudin Balls in restaurants can be had at Boucherie, Butcher and Cochon

anywhere to just pick up cheap, good boudin balls at gas stations, seafood markets, etc? I'm talking Tony's type prices (about 3 for $1 for boudin balls).
Link of boudin or boudin balls and a 22oz of domestic swill is a good drive home from work.

Yeh...NOLA Grocery.
Butcher sells hot boudin in a paper bag for like $2 or $1.50 for a link...really not that pricey.

ha, so the 2 boudin purveyors in the city are next door to each other?
just looked up NOLA grocey. $6.40/lb for boudin? good lord. how is it?
maybe if more places pop up not in the warehouse district prices will come down.

They get it from somewhere in the laffy area so its good....haven't been there in a few years...I kind of like the fact that I have to travel to places like Best Stop...it makes me more excited for my laffy work trips.

I'm 100% positive Creole Country has "imported" boudin.
