We were beating the hell out of them. I mean I stayed the whole game but who are you to tell someone what they can do. Some people might have other things to worry about besides the LSU game. It's their life. I'm sure those people would have stayed if the game was not a blowout. Just because you feel that everyone should stay the whole game doesn't mean it's going to happen. You can't control what other fans do, so why worry about it?

I guess you didn't go to 07 Florida, 07 Auburn, 08 Bama, or 09 Florida. Fans did all they could in each of those games.

So LSU fans can only get up for 1 game a year now, 2 if you can win the National Championship. I don't disagree with Guilbeau. The crowd was not into this game for some reason, but the team was at their best.

I havent missed a game in 21 years. The last game the fans influenced the outcome was 03 Georgia. The games you mention the fans did actually get involved though. 09 Florida the fans where great on 1 drive.

Tiger Stadium did fill up by kickoff, but for a crowd of 92,654, it was dead.

07 Va Tech, 08 App State even though it was 10 in the morning. What other games would you like to see. I mean 08 was a tough year. It's extremely difficult to get up when your team is playing so poorly. There were several times in 08 when we came out fired up but were quickly quieted down. 08 Georgia and 08 Ole Miss. I don't care what you say. We couldn't play those games for them. It doesn't matter how loud we were we lost to just flat out better teams.

the fans were great on defense for the whole 1st half of 09 florida. not 1 drive.
i haven't been lucky enough to go to too many games since graduating in 06, but UGA 03 was the last game i remember the crowd being that amped up as well.

Thank you. Finally some support. Just because LSU lost doesn't mean that the fans didn't show up. We were going nuts for the Florida game, but it doesn't matter how loud the fans are when you only put up three points. How can you tell me that the fans didn't influence 07 Florida. There was electric in the air. It was as if even down 10 at half time and Florida looking like the better team, we never doubted that we would win.

not all that long ago. The crowd used to get up for every game. Not just BCS top 5

maybe so. but that was back when winning 8 games was something that would pump fans up. more games were toss ups back then.

non-student "fans" were leaving with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.

The "frat" section was just about empty after halftime.

The point of all this is Tiger Stadium has become no different than any other stadium with a winning tradition. The line that it is tougher to play in or the crowd is more hostile just isnt true anymore. The reputation that campus has the biggest wildest tailgating action in the nation has now become fact hands down over the last few years.I think the two correlate. The tailgating has become the primary event for a lots of people with the game becoming secondary.

For those of you who are offended by those fans who complain about people leaving early- here's why:

1. It looks really bad on tv
2. Tiger Stadium is best when its full and when the fans are into it. When so many people leave early, its just not the same.

What was strange last Saturday where we sit was that so many people who were there weren't even watching the game - people were just socializing or playing on their cell phones. Its just not like it used to be - unfortunately.

surely you don't believe that our fan base is dumb enough to be brainwashed like that. hell, the louisianian's i know, which is quite a few, are some of the most independent minded folks around. plus, i bet the majority of our fan base never has even looked on this board, and those that do probably aren't regulars. i do see your point though, the negatigers piss me off, esp. their loudmouth insistence in having things their way

Massive amounts of emotional energy are being spent on this negativity and it's highly unlikely that the only place it's expressed is here. They're talking to their family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and even the random stranger. Damn few people are really independent thinkers because being accepted by the group is more important to most. Louisianians are just as suseptible to group think as others. Propaganda works and in this case it is very counter productive.

Thanks, TAF.

TAF has basically priced out many people that used to make the Stadium so loud. Couple that with our recent success and you now have a different group of "fans" than we used to. I know many people that have dropped their tickets due to economics.

It just wouldn't be a true fan bashing thread without complaining about the Greek section, would it?

Look at the Pics of the band performing pre-game and look at the empty seats. That's unreal.
