re: Times Picayune Article: Miles says no QB controversy

"Miles will not think about changing QBs or play Lee for a series or two unless JJ is injured. We saw this last year. Lee may see some mop up duty against Tulane and LaTech, but that's about it.
Right or wrong, that is Miles."
And this is why LSU will be lucky to win 2 out of the 4 remaining SEC games.

Put each QB on roster in for a series. Stop on the one who completes a drive for an LSU score.
Well, that's one way to handle things, but what have you seen JL do this year this season which warrants such an approach?

Well, it is a tad strange to find a "quarterback controversy" on a TOP 10 ranked
You can call it strange, but it boils down to this...this year is down for the entire country and the conference. At the midway mark, for this team to still have a chance at anything is not normal for an offense this bad. Your usual powerhouses are remotely average. there are no set 3-6 dominant teams that have run away with the year leaving it out of reach. Florida, Bama, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, are all very beatable....soooo, a controversy exists because some see there's a very good chance to make up some ground by taking advantage of the parity and maybe putting in a different QB to shake things up before it's too late...just a thought.

We have the 112th ranked offense in the country...
And the 54th rated QB:
D1 QB Ratings
And added bonus points for those who can guess who the #1 rated QB in D-1-AA is:
D1-AA QB Ratings
Now I just gotta hope those ratings are current.
Thanks for the catch on the D-2/D1-AA thing Promie.

Let's watch the game this week-end and see how we do on offense. Please remember ball security is the #1 objective in a QB and JL had major issues with ball security, field position, and Pick 6's.

What does this say about the confidence in Jarrett Lee.
frick it, I hope he transfers. His HS TE teammate is at McNeese and we'll need a QB. We have nothing but RS freshmen behind our 4 year starter.

It's NOT Div II. Where do you get Div II out of Div I-AA??

If Miles doesn't play J Lee he will leave at the end of this year. The QB should be decided on the field with competition. Both JJ and JL should be our QB until one wins the job on the field.

What's his e-mail so I can start politicing for McNeese? There was a story about how close he was to going to Northwestern St., but they blow dick because Peveto is the worst coach alive. Well, second worst behind Willingham.

If Lee is still "that bad" to this day with locking onto a reciever, then take his schollie away. I just can't imagine he's that bad to where he doesn't see the field even when the guy in front of him will take a sack on a 4th down in stead of throwing it up when the team is behind with a minute left in the game. It's just absurd that it's not even being tossed around. Why take a sack with 4th and like 10 when you need the first or the game is over>? blindly throwing it up has a better chance to produce positive results over taking a 4th down sack.

they have this thing call practice where our offense goes against our defense and the coaches watch them and decide who is good and stuff

the best player in practice is not always the best on the field.
I like to use Tony Pike as an example.
ETA: I did sense the sracasm btw. I just wanted to add that.

I think its a little unfair to base where we think JJ should be on a bowl game against a mediocre Georgia Tech team and ealier games this year against competition that is nowhere near SEC caliber. Not to mention losing two OL one was an all-american and the other all conference. I bet Johnson and Helms were worth another second on average sitting in the pocket versus Hebert and Dwor. We are 2 maybe 3 games into the part of the schedule that will just set the baseline for whether we think JJ is getting coached up or improving in the future. Thinking he should perform better against Georgia or Florida down 2 OL than he did against a GT team where we had a month to prepare is asking a little much.

Chicken are your truely on the side that feels Jordan Jefferson is responsible for the 112th ranked offense?
You really feel it's all his fault?
You really feel that the coaches have put JJ is situations to rack up points and yardage?
Come on your better than this clucker.

I'd like to see where BAMA was ranked when their soph QB won the SEC and National Championship in 1992. He only threw 7 TDs and had 9 INTs in 12 games and completed less than 60% of his passes!
With some changes in playcalling and improved QB coaching, JJ can get it done. I didn't say he will get it done, but I think he is close.

BS. Maybe it doesn't show up on TV, but he has receivers running wide open on every play. ESPECIALLY against Florida. Apparently he is dropping back so far, he can't see them. Maybe we should send him to Bowe's eye doctor?
Actually, Les would never throw anyone under the bus or tell anyone his plans, Even if he planned all week to put JL in on the second play, we would enver tip his hand.

what kills me is JJ's record as a starter should be 7-1 if not for Alem kicking the ball and extending a drive for Arky with a penalty and then Malleveto imploding in the 4th qtr
