In a nutshell, Miles says that JJ is our man and he is young and improving. Nice.

How long do we ride this excuse?

If he is, it is at the speed of glacial shift. I think he has regressed if anything.

There were a couple of times when a cornerback was hovering over a receiver and I didn't want to force it into coverage, so I'm looking for a chance to run it or throw the ball out of bounds."

-- On whether he relies too much on one receiver: "I have a checkdown, but sometimes none of them are open, " he said. "It's just great coverage by the defense."
what bad luck LSU has that UW, ULL, Vandy, Miss St, UGA and UF all had blanket coverage on all of our wide receivers the entire game. i guess we're doing all we can do though

And congratulations to Tiger Droppings/The Rant (and Carl) for making the front page of the Times Picayune Sports section.

Neither got their name mentioned though. It was all "irate realms of cyberspace" and fans with "disgruntled crosshairs" who harbor "disdain" for LSU's quarterback.

Carl did get a bit of an (admittedly anonyumous") shouthout as: "a sportswriter well versed in Tiger athletics"

Note to the OP: You might want to consider editing the title to refer to the Times Picayune or NOLA article. Othewise there's liable to be a couple dozen threads on this article in the next few hours.

BS. Maybe it doesn't show up on TV, but he has receivers running wide open on every play. ESPECIALLY against Florida. Apparently he is dropping back so far, he can't see them. Maybe we should send him to Bowe's eye doctor?

"I start looking for a seam or throw the ball out of bounds. I don't want to be back there too long, because I don't want to put more pressure on the o-line. I know it's hard blocking those guys for a certain amount of time."

This should be a no-brainer for Crowton. Everyone that can hit the "on" button to the TV remote knows JJ cannot read and correctly run an option. Does that information not lead you to know that he cannot also read and correctly identify blitzes and stunts while in the pocket?

You guys need to try a little harder. You know how many hits TD could have had by not getting its's name in that article?

Lot of room for improvement in the disgruntled crosshairs of disdain department.

Is Les being stubborn or just stupid? Is this a reflection of how bad the coaches thing J Lee is? As previoulsy noted, I just can't see that every team we've played has played perfect coverage in the secondary on 2 wide receivers that will be in the NFL. If that's the case, then Crowton is not doing a good enough job calling plays to get them open. Either way, they need to be rotated in the same game. Stupid to keep thinking JJ had absolutely only 3 passes open all game against Florida. Mallett didn't seem to have any problems passing on Florida, but our wide outs were completely blanketed all game?

This obviously happens to an extent, but this is big boy football, not 1AA. You need to fit the ball into tight windows. That's why you have a scholarship

WHAT quarterback controversy?

Well, it is a tad strange to find a "quarterback controversy" on a TOP 10 ranked team when the starting guy has QBed the team 99.9% of the time and the other guy less than .01% of the time and then for 10 yds of total O or less.

Let the great LSU QB rotation begin.

Put each QB on roster in for a series. Stop on the one who completes a drive for an LSU score.

Miles will not think about changing QBs or play Lee for a series or two unless JJ is injured. We saw this last year. Lee may see some mop up duty against Tulane and LaTech, but that's about it.

Right or wrong, that is Miles.

You're fricking kidding me right? There's a reason why no sophomore QB has ever won an SEC championship. This conference is rough on young QBs.
