Over 500 consecutive sellouts? Come on man, i dont care what team you like or dislike you cant argue that that is impressive. Esp in baseball

if you can't agree with that then we just shouldn't even be talking because you are just trying to start shite

It's 38,000 or so. And it's a big deal when that's all Fenway holds, and we still keep Fenway.

sure, its impressive

but why only sell out a 37k seat stadium when you could sell out a 67k seat stadium

its strictly a business move, and a sound one at that

I dislike the Sox for all the reasons you listed above Ron, but I hate the Yankees more.

Because they're are tons of people just like the guy on the MSB who's favorite teams are the Yankees, Lakers, and I think what, UNC? But more importantly their abuse of the market and artificial infaltion of player salaries. How they stole CC last year just made it worse.

Sums up why the yankees and their fans suck. What kind of sports fan actually thinks this?

Sox fan argument that the Yankees buy players rather than develop talent like Boston always gets me. Yes the Yankees notoriously spend more on free agents and they have paid for it dearly the last 8-9 years with no depth in the system. However when you compare current lineups, NY is even with Boston or one up depending on which lineup is used by Boston

Position players:
YANKS
Jeter, Cano, Posada, Cabrera

SOX
Pedroia, Elsbury, Youk, Varitek

SP:
YANKS
Petitte, Joba

SOX
Lester, Buchholz

ladies and gentlemen, i call this tears of a brewer

but seriously, i actually did a project on this in grad school

if you look at all of their revenue, you can understand why they can do what they do. just the YES network alone is a huge chunk of cash. they bring in so much revenue they can afford to pay out what they do

i personally think steinbrenner is an outstanding person, based solely on the fact that as much money as he makes, he could easily pocket it all and be one of the richest men in america.

instead, he puts the money that he could pocket back into the ball club by purchasing the best players and giving back to the fans

while i think yankee fans are huge pieces of shite, they have it made with an owner who cares about his fans and the product on the field

Ron- I was with you until this statement. Although I will agree that it does for a player when deciding where to go. I dont think CC or Tex came to NY just bc of monument park or 26
