Everyone up here in Birmingham is already talking about Florida vs. BAMA. For some reason, I still feel we have a chance at making the championship game by beating Bama in a close game. Tiger fans, what is your hope level to make the SEC title game?

hope we all have
being realistic: slim to none

Auburn, Alabama, LSU all still control their own destiny...

Everyone said that last year, and we were a pick 6 away from winning it.

if our offense can improve, i feel like we can win it too.

but the crazy thing with the recent history of the Bama/LSU game is the success the visiting teams have had in the other team's stadium.

In one game, LSU can beat Bama....absolutely. Much crazier crap has happened.
But don't forget about the other games.
Arky, Aub & OM are definitely not givens.

It's not really a recent thing. LSU rarely ever beats Bama at home, therefore most of our wins in the history of the series have been at their place.

Alabama may be even better than last year. To be honest, we only have a chance if we play unbelievably well (with drastic changes) and if Alabama plays unbelievably below what they are capable of playing. But there is a slight possibility.

And we were one incompletion on 4th down away from losing 2 years ago.

I feel confident that we can win. It's going to be interesting to see if we do. We only have one loss with a bye week this week. I think if adjustments are made we can still make and win the SEC championship game.
I guess I feel this way because I remember LSU being in a similar situation back in 2001. We had an offense that was not really scoring much and Saban wanted to continue to be a ball control, grind it out type of team. It wasn't until he allowed Jimbo to open up the offense with more passing (Davey to Reed) that the team started to score more and eventually went on a six game winning streak to finish the season.
Ironically, I think that THIS team is going to have to get back to running the football effectively and that that will open up passing lanes for Jefferson. Against Florida, they rushed 3 and dropped 8 into coverage almost every time. Jefferson's not ready to have to overcome that just yet. But, if he had an effective running game, I think we'd see improved play from him. All of our goals are still VERY much attainable.
