When it is time for o BAMA, the Tigahs will represent. I invite all to review the LSU-BAMA scores going back to 1993 when playing in Tuscaloosa. Please notice who wins and margins of victory. LSU has gone to BDS with far less talent and far less coaching...see how the Tigahs perform...they have no fear of playing @ alabama....ever.

I don't think we'll get blown out vs. bama, but without drastic improvements/changes on offense our only hope to beat them is a shutout or scoring on d or special teams

LSU has exactly the same chance against Alabama that they did against Florida and these things must occur for LSU to win:

1) LSU MUST WIN the turnover margin by at least 2 or 3]
2) The OL must block better than they have for both the running game and the passing game
3) Jefferson must rollout some and not turn back to the offside of the field
4) The defense just needs to play the way they are playing right now...forcing turnovers for the most part and limiting the big plays

If LSU does 1-4, LSU wins the game. If not, they lose. Oh, and for the wise guys, LSU will score more points which technically wins the game.

you must have been born after 1992. that was the best bama team ever. hell, might have been the best defense in the history of college football.

Florida's defense is just as good or better than Bama's. Florida's offense is probably just as good, probably better than Bama's. We could have beat Florida so why should we be afraid of Bama? We should have beat them last year, and we threw 2 pick 6's in that game and it still took OT for them to finish us off. LSU can beat anybody.

I like our chances against Bama if we can manage to score at least 17 points.

No, I was a teenager at the time, but I do know that the 1992 team's offense was abysmal. That defense was extremely good, but so is this year's. Head to head, the 2009 team would beat the 1992 team, IMO.

Here's the reason for the fear:

LSU fans have an insufferable inferiority complex when it comes to Alabama.

This is the basis for the hatred of Nick Saban. LSU fans' fear that HE was the real reason for LSU's success, and that no one else could do it.

This is again the reason for the fear of Alabama this year. It's the LSU fans going back to their default mode of being deathly afraid of big, bad Alabama and considering them to be far superior.

It's quite nauseating, really.

I am confident that we can win in Tuscaloosa. The last time that a good LSU team lost there was 1995.

I think you hit the nail on the head - we represent the highest level of insecure fanbases especially when Bama is concerned.

That "abysmal" offense scored 34 points and rushed for 267 yards against an incredible Miami defense in the Sugar Bowl.

why is it so difficult to accept that maybe our Defense is gelling and doing a better job and is maybe on way to being a scary unit?

The D ism't the problem. The offense will not score much on saban's D.Its old time Saban football. I don't see them getting beat unless FLA does it in the SECCG.

I just wish it wasn't at tuscaloosa..

Been to Tuscalooser 9 times, seen six Tiger victories and only twice was LSU favored to win.
Stranger things happen all the time. I wouldn't bet on it but we stand a punchers chance if the defense continues to improve and impress. Now if we could just fix that offense...

There is no fricking old time Saban football - please go watch and review and analyze our entire stretch. He had as many hits and misses as any really good coach and no one played scared of his teams and he was out-coached quite often. You are trying to make him out to be like Spurrier of Florida where there was a fear factor.

This rewriting of history where Saban is concerned - making him out to be this goddamn defensive genius who always had dominating suffocating defenses and championship teams is getting to be quite nauseating.

Please don't read into this to be a Saban-bashing or Miles-supporting post and start straw man arguments.
