Just wondering? LSU have never been afraid at all and even when they were undefeated last year , we gave them all they wanted and then some. Why so fearful?

I'm not "afraid" of anyone. I would be "afraid" of teams were I Florida: our QB isn't coming off of a concussion.

LSU can and will be able to beat any team in the country. Whether they will or not is completely dependent on the adjustments CLM makes now.

Realism would be -
1. We played our worst offense and lost to the #1 Team and #1 Defense and still the score was only 13-3.

2.We were never that good with our Running game to be scared now of the Bama Front (it can't be any worse).

3.The Bama CBs are definitely a step below the Florida guys.

4. Even the most pessimistic folks would have to agree that there is nowhere to go but up in the offense.

All this points to the fact that if at all anything
Bama should be wondering - how the heck they are going to win against OUR Defense ( which held UF to 13).

Don't bring in the BS about UF playing safe etc.. They risked the life of their star to win a fricking game - I don't buy into that conservative crap.

We did stop UF and hence Bama O doesn't even begin to raise the fear factor any higher

Bama is better than UF IMO.

One thing that gives me hope, A Saban team will under perform at some point of the season. Hopefully vs LSU.

Other than a vague gut feeling - do you have anything to repudiate the facts that I have presented?

I am not trying to say that we will win or that we will lose - merely pointing out that given the situation so far -and even if we only maintain status quo - there is still nothing to show why we are deserving of any less than that more so than even questioning if Bama is deserving of more than that.

We could just as easily come out over the next month and beat down the state of Alabama. Everyone knows we have the talent. Everyone knows deep down in side the coaches can lead us to big time victories(the facts are there). Everyone knows that Patrick Peterson got that Swagger.

Because I've watched our offense "perform" like they have for 6 games now?

And I've also seen Bama's defense 3 or 4 times.

That's good enough reason for me to be afraid of Bama.

You have also seen our Defense over the past 6 games and must have noticed the leaps and bounds in improvement - lest you forget that was just two field goals and a single TD against Florida.

Bama better improve their offense if they plan to reach double digits on us.

Regarding their defense - their front is not going to be any worse than how we fared against Florida but their backfield support is nowhere near the Gators' and we managed to move the ball on them before we shut down after the half.

You must not have watched the same game as I.

Let me rephrase - Florida (except for the last drive after our 4 downs) didn't play as though they were content with going up by just a few points.

Their play calling might have been simple but that by no means is a reflection of their want to score more but not being able to do so.

Meyer is not known for taking his foot off the pedal and he didn't do so here (except for the last minute) - why is it so difficult to accept that maybe our Defense is gelling and doing a better job and is maybe on way to being a scary unit?

I think we match up well against Bama...if we can score some points. We can stop their pro-style offense.

This has to be sarcasm.

Bama's offense has played very well this year. And if ya'll really think our defense dominated Florida, then you don't know anything about football. They punted one time. They crossed midfield every time they had the ball. Our defense played very hard, and kept them out of the endzone with some big stops, but at no time did we ever shut them down. Urban Meyer punted on 4th and inches from LSU's side of the field because he knew our offense couldn't score.

Now Nicky has always played to let his defense win, but at the rate we're giving up sacks, we're in big trouble vs the Tide if we don't show some improvement.

We couldn't move the ball against inferior defenses like UW, Vandy, USL, MSU and UGA. Just look at how many yards and points other teams have put up against those teams.

Given our offense right now, it doesn't take many points to beat us.

I know reality doesn't sit well with many of you.

I am not fearful I am hopeful. The phytoplankton offense has a lot of points to its credit but if you watch most of the games many are on broken plays or other stuff where the d just doesn't do what a decent d should. If we can prevent big plays from Florida all game I think our d can pretty much shutdown the phytoplankton as well.

Offensively right now we just aren't getting it done. Whether we win or lose is totally dependent on whether our offense can find itself. We don't need 38 points but we do need few 3 and outs and a few points put on the board.

I hope we see the coaches take this extra week to prepare for Auburn and make the needed changes on offense. Despite the hate our offense comments about LSU, most of the desicions made by the coaches have been for a reason and the players are not doing what they are being called to do.

Now it is time for the coaches to try something differnt. Scrap much of what is going on a come out and put some points on the board. I feel pretty confident this all happens soon with a jumpstart coming because of the extra week. That will make it like 10 times easier to put in the needed changes vs having to do it in one week.

You seem to be contradicting yourself. On one hand you say that we didn't dominate florida and on the other you say that we played very hard and kept them out of the end zone with some big stops and then again - but we never shut them down.

I wonder what is it that is acceptable as a good defense from everyone.

The reason I felt this D was and is good is because

1. Regardless of how they played each time - they kept the ball out of the end zone - AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS From a defensive standpoint.

2. Urban punted - as opposed to how he did it the previous 4 games because we are good and it wasn't worth risking that fourth down.

I don't care about pretty defenses
About defenses named after states
I don't care for dominant defenses
All I care is that they win games
