Tebow's status...doctors input welcome

Like many of you, I've been wondering thr status of Tebow. One thing that has caught my attention is that earlier in the week, they had one of the doctors in Florida say that you need to take your first hit in practice to be sure that all symptoms are gone, so that it presents no problem w/ crowd noise, etc. I'm sure many of you saw the article as well. Any doctors have any say on this? If what the doctor said are the guidelines they're using, am I correct in thinking Tebow is definetly out for the game?

Not an MD but have plenty training in TBI with OIF/OEF veterans and have father-in-law w/ severe TBI. I don't see him playing and if he does, it is a big risk to his future.

I'm a neuropsychologist and while I don't know the specific details of his neurological and neuropsychological test results, I doubt he will be playing. If he does play, I'm sure he will be taking some hard hits and I wouldn't want him to get another concussion so soon after his initial injury. If he hasn't FULLY recovered it is not recommended he play.

Enough w/ the expert medical opinion.

I am an MD, & I will say that he is a grown arse man and assumes all risk upon return. He is at increased risk, but it is risk only. Nothing may happen. I would advise against it myself even if he had a normal exam, but he may be able to take a hard shot to he head and not have any reinjury. That's why it is called precautions.
You know he wants to play bc he's never won in TS, & wants to lead UF to an undefeated season.

TBI = traumatic brain injury
OIF/OEF = Operation Iraqi Freedom; Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghan). The most frequent injury returning from current conflict is TBI due to the use of IED's.
ETA: Just said on news here in Orlando that team MD's want to see how he reacts to the flight.

True story:
I was in I-Hop last year when old man slipped and fell hitting the back of his head on pavement. Many people went to his aid. I was standing at the door and went to see what I could do. He was having a seizure. They were trying to get him up. I told them to leave him on the ground and I knelt above his head to make sure not to add any more injury to his neck. His old wife was at my side and asked if I were a doctor. And yes, I said it.... No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
The man made a full recovery..

FWIW, very different than concussion.

I saw an interview with the leading expert on sports concussions and recovery. He isnt from UF. He was the one that said the first hits post concussion need to come in practice not in a game. If you notice all the shots of Tebow in pads at practice this week are all staged. I think I saw Brantley in one pic but no other players.
Doug Moreau LSU sports announcer and EBR DA said in today's legal environment no MD in his right mind would clear him to play in this game. He said no medical release would stand up in court if he got re injured. He also felt Lloyds of London's MDs would have to clear him. They arent risking millions in insurance money with him playing.

Not so much; concussions are viewed as mild TBI. No loss of consciousness.

If they are concerned enough to worry about a flight on Friday, he doesn't play.

Word on our boards from "insiders" today is he's playing.
I'd guess Brantley starts (he's earned the chance to play) and plays first series then 15 comes in after.
