Assume Tebow plays - how do you defend him

knowing that he might actually DIE if you hit him? I've never played organized football, so I'm not really inside any of these guys' heads, but how the frick do you operate a defense knowing that the next clean hit on that guy could actually end his life? If it was me, I'm sure I'd be holding back. Which is surely no way to play defense.
So what do you do, as a coach or a player? I'm really at a loss.

you dont go out there and try and hurt the guy, but you dont back off at all. if they say he is healthy enough to play the game then he is healthy enough to take your biggest clean hit.

i'm gonna offer erin andrews $20 to make pretty eyes at tebow the whole game..that should distract him.

Same way Tennessee did.

Tennessee didn't have to worry about ending his life. Read the post before you respond.

Exaggerate much?

Can you link the occasion that this previousley happened??? If doctors clear him to play, you have to assume as a player he is just as capable as you.

You have to trust that they are making a sound decision and play. I feel for the Tiger D, because you know it will be in their heads.

good call. Chavis should read this very post to the defense right before the game.

you tell the defense that you play to win, you run through him and you hit him as hard as you would have had he never gotten injured. If he and the Florida coaches and doctors decide he's good to go, then he's good to go.
What you MUST explain to Rahim Alem and the rest of the D, however, is that the officials will not tolerate ANYTHING even REMOTELY cheap or late. Hit him hard, but don;t lower your helmet, don't go near his head and whatever you do don't hit him late.

LOL at this and this thread then. Have you ever seen this in a college game?

Hit him harder than you've ever hit anyone else. Like the Russian said in Rocky IV. "If he dies....................he dies."

You really think this will be in their heads? All they care about is winning and stopping the Florida offense. It is going to be in Tebow's head and Urban's head more so than anyone else.

A little dramatic, don't you think?
He won't play if he isn't ready. And he won't die from another hit if he does play.

$20 to a millionaire ... yea, that is going to do it!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
first, if UF puts a potentially injured player, particularly with the type of injury he has, the coach ought to be fired ... but i'll give more credit to Urban Meyer and i believe if that is the case, he won't do it. Urban Meyer has more class than most of us want to admit! he isn't someone that fell off of the water melon truck yesterday.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
then again, i'll take an ugly win in any way, shape or form .... (but logic tells me, that if we do win, this will be the most difficult win ever in T.S. History)

Is Tebow the first player in the world to play after having a concusion?
Hell No!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The question is not a valid question. If this had been Tebow's sixth concussion then he might want to think of a career as a chipendale's dancer. Until then he is a football player and you get hit. Enough said.

you don't have to worry about killing him, if you listen to the media, tebow is actually a reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Kill him, he rises from the dead and still scores two more times on you.
