i buy my wife malbecs or grenaches. You can usually find them under $10 and they are decent.

Well, let me tell ya something, Pepe. You guys invented the messiest food in the world when you came up with tacos. When you bite into the shell everything falls apart. I had to eat mine over the friggin' sink.

only white people eat tacos in shells, fwiw. I haven't had a taco shell in probably 10 years.

I eat mine on tortillas.

i am mexican, tacos are pretty normal in my household.
what scares me more is that LSU won't even be # 2 in the west. we have almost always been bama's bitch. that is unlikely to change. But I would at least like to vie for #2.

clarification regarding pictures posted

Posted by MileHigh on 10/13/09 at 10:32 am
It appears that the site endorses pictures being posted on the site being used for things other than the original desired input.

So, if someone posts a picture, its acceptable to repost it? Or use it for things like contests and what not? And create derivative works (i.e. farks)?

TIA for clarity here.

I figured you knew about the legislation.

i typically ignore executive compensation discussions. you are fricked no matter what.
there is no legislation mentioned in your post.

I'm all for a free market, but at the same time, I would like some accountability from CEOs.

you can have accountability and the free market. The trick is to link compensation to performance. And that is really difficult to do.

My biggest concern is that I don't want the government preempting state law here only to have them involve themselves more and more in teh future.

the gov't isn't going to get involved. they may jawbone, but they won't do anything too crazy here.
I think figuring out how much executives get paid is really difficult. I am strong supporter of shareholder rights, this has appeal to me from a shareholder perspective.

But at the same time, that is why you elect board of directors. if you don't trust them to make good decisions, why bother?

9-3, and a cap one bowl appearance.
people in denver, who were overall quite lukewarm to the hire, are getting excited.

You wouldn't believe the amount of 5-0 crap I have on my facebook news feed.

I dont see why someone would say its over priced. SUpply and demand should debunk that.

well I don't know about that. Most of the gold that is traded is paper gold, and that could drive up the value of the physical asset to an unreasonable value. But it should hold value decently in financial turmoil.

Gold is not a good long term investment and it can be backed up by historical data.

Gold should never been seen as an asset that produces a return, just a really safe asset.

hang onto it if it was given to you. Gold might be over valued at the moment, but having a krugerrand is pretty cool. And if obama crashes this country into a brick wall, then having a gold coin will come in handy.

Yeah. I thought that was pretty much inferred.

you have to speak slowly. Russian is a banker.

On ALL of their options ARM's? No way that's correct, is it?

the article is poorly written. But I think she means on each foreclosure.

Based on this
quote:

Cumulative losses should range between 6% and 11% among Alt-A/B ARMs and between 11% and 36% among subprime ARMs.

if it was on all, those numbers would be much larger. However, they don't break out option arms specifically.

It's really very simple. The borrow says by contract at the time he borrows the money: "I agree to pay you interest and principal back after borrowing this sum. If I don't, then you can come after me according to the prescriptions of this agreement".

if there was a moral aspect, it would be related to charging interest. Or lending at all.

quote:

"If you lend money to one of my people who is needy, do not be like a money-lender; charge him no interest." ~Exodus 22: 25

If the credit card issuers were moral, according to the bible they would discharge that debt.
quote:

"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law." ~Romans 13: 8

quote:

Bible Quote - Deuteronomy 23:19

You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.

What are you referring to here? Each state has a SOL in place for CC debt.. How can someone haunt you forever if you have eclipsed the SOL in your state? Yea you can still owe the money but the CC companies cannot do anything about it and after 7 years it doesnt even show up on your credit.

forever was an exaggeration. I think its 8 years now.
quote:

By the same token the CC companies are stupid for lending money to people who aren't likely to be able to pay it back.

they did this based on the reforms of 2005, where they could haunt people forever...until they pay it back. Ooops turned out to be a bad idea.
quote:

But you seem to act like there's some high moral duty to repay the credit card companies. There's a high moral duty to provide for your family's needs. If someone is given the choice between providing for their family's needs and paying their credit card company; and they choose to pay the credit card? I would say that's an affirmatively immoral choice.
