Whether still labeled on the menu or not, ask for The Contadina plate.

May be my current favorite Italian place in New Orleans.

I like how they do calamari, and the veal dishes are really good as well. They keep things pretty simple, which more Italian places in town should learn to do.

We ended up going to Eleven 79 instead. Solid as always. One of these days I'm going to make it to Maximo's though.

I like Eleven79 a lot...

Here is your excuse to go to Maximo's...T-TH 2 courses for $20...

We had the scallop and mussels as our two apps and both had the veal with fresh pasta for our main...a STEAL. Tuesday is Wine FLight night I think...or maybe we went on Wednesday...either way it was just $10 to add on.

Went back and had the full on dinner...I am sold on this place.

Maximo's is a little bland for me and I have given it almost a dozen shots.
Service can be terrible and entrees are overpriced. Everything is so simple here, Grill, Fir roasted etc.

Eleven 79 better food and atmosphere.

No... Way overpriced. Food is good, but it is definitely overpriced.

It's Italy, right here in Metry.

If Italy looked like a Best Western banquet room in Des Moines.

That (and Chef Joe's clientele) is part of the charm.

Yes, best italian in NOLA area by far. I haven't tried Besh's recently opened DOMENICA, but it looks damn good. Thinking about making it my Sunday night regular dinner place.
