Vineyard.

Covington was a great spot in Edgartown. Loved the Atlantic for HH and drinks or dancing.

Nantucket- would for sure try out Cisco Brewery during the day for beer, food trucks. CRU has best lunch and raw bar in town.

I live in BTR, I went to Red Maple for lunch and it was DISGUSTING.

Crab pasta is like processed cheese with pasta and then some cheap imitation crab meat sprinkled on top. The bartenders look like they should work on bourbon, which i applaud, but gross is an understatement.'

A Mano New Orleans

Posted by cajunwhodat on 3/21/10 at 7:45 pm
I went Friday night with big expectations. had the salumi plate, which was good and housemade. Also had A-mano cocktail which didnt really do it for me. Tasted like margarita mix.

My entree was the rabbit which was cooked perfect, but VERY oily. It was basically set in oil, which to me ruined the rabbit and dish.

My other gripe is that the restaurant before it was names Hipstix. There has not been much work done since the old joint.

I could be spoiled due to two good meals at domenica, but was not impressed with A mano...

I went Thursday for soft opening. The Tuna Ceviche was solid. Sushi was great. I also had the squid steak app which was good. Only thing i did not enjoy was the sake margarita. The rest of the meal was good, service was solid, and good vibe.

Will be going there a good bit. interested to see the reviews..

Alinea is great BUT you are going to pay. 150 a head minimum. I really enjoyed Frontera Grille and Tolombolamo, Rick Bayless places next door to each other. I can do without their Pizza, deep dish isnt my thing

went last night for 3rd time. The problem is that its a bit stuffy and that kills it a bit for me. The food was OK. Crabmeat Maison, Filet with bearnaise. The Au Gratin potatoes were great, but something here is too basic, too plain, and without the nola atmosphere, it falls flat.

Agree that its good, but not out of this world. VERY pricey, more than Ruths Flemings, etc. A power steakhouse in DC, good meat, but I would do Capitol Grill instead.

Maximo's is a little bland for me and I have given it almost a dozen shots.
Service can be terrible and entrees are overpriced. Everything is so simple here, Grill, Fir roasted etc.

Eleven 79 better food and atmosphere.

Foodies try to hard to tear apart Digulios. The place is top notch atmosphere and a true neighborhood joint.
3 Apps stand out, 1. Cambazola and garlic 2. fried calamari
3. Fried Eggplant or crispers

Their gorganzola and walnut salad is good.
Entrees, any of the grilled fish with pesto or italian salsa, the veal dishes, speghetti and meatballs, Butter steak (under-rated) and their Osso Bucco (Best). Plus good pizza.

They also have great off menu specials and to top it all off, they have desserts from Nanaette Mayhall in Baton rouge.

There are those will dissect this place, but to me, its a solid spot

Its not as thin as some italian pizzas, but their red sauce is good and adding roasted garlic to their pizza is always a good idea.

Pizza is pretty solid, not as firm as pastime but not soggy either

Domenica Review

Posted by cajunwhodat on 9/7/09 at 4:33 pm
Went to Domenica last night for the first time. Impressions of the restaurant initially were you don't feel like you are in New Orleans. Has a New York, LA, feel to the place and the menu won't change that view because there isn't anything on here you will see in many NOLA restaurants.

Started with a simple Marinara Pizza, they had about 6 to choose from, all priced around $12. It was outstanding, the dough, thin, crispy and a bit burned on the bottom as it should be. Had to keep myself from eating too much pizza to not fill up.

Next had a goat cheese mixture, house made salami, and speck. All were great, the salami being the best. We also ordered a side of torta fritta which is like a beignet with no sugar fried in pork fat. Tough not to be tasty. They also served spiced pistachios, an onion marmalede and other spreads with the platter.

At this point, the Chef came around to every table and introduced himself. Seemed great, spent over a year in Italy to prepare and before that had been a Besh Steak.

Next up was a chilled heirloom tomato soup with a crab salad, good summer dish, a pasta dish with a rabbit ragu and the winner of the night the Octopus Carpachiao, thinly sliced and served in a lemon citrus vinegarette. Never would have thought it would work and it did

At this point too full for anymore, but did have a housemade herb lemonchiello, wow, great way to end meal.

Overall, can't wait to go back, prices are fair, large and small plates offered and Chef seems really invested. First class dining

i went in for a beer with a buddy. They spent a lot of money fixing up, just a bunch of TV's and a typical bourbon strip club except run by ricks. Not too impressed there.

no food, its just another ricks.

Joel Rubuchon is a LONG dining experience, but very nice

Michael Mina at the Bellagio is top notch also and would consider

Warehouse District pizza

In New Orleans has closed. Anyone know exactly what happened. It was the best pizza in NOLA.
