Best BBQ in BRLA

restuarant where we can sit with the kids. I did not go to the Food and Drnk Board b/c no one has posted there in 3 days and we want to go soon.

Couyon's is best by far.
It's small and is more of a lunch-like atmosphere, but there are plenty of places to sit.

I have never been but my friend that does a lot of his own BBQ says that Pimanyoli’s is some of the best he has had. They were in 225 Magazine a few months ago and were rated one of the best BBQ places in Louisiana. Can't vouch for it myself but I hear it's good.

The best BBQ in the BR is by a guy they call Country. He doesn't have a restaurant but if your lucky enought o have tried it, you would know.

Baton Rouge does not have a great selection of BBQ places. Voodoo is probably the best but I think it is average.. Its not NOT good but I do not think its great. If you can find a good soul food place that has BBQ that would probably be the best place.

I second Couyons for best BBQ in town but its too damn close to Gardere and it may get robbed while you are there with the kids.

Couyon's does rock. I order takeout every couple of weeks. I swear, their chickens are as big as small turkeys; they're twice as big as the little rotisserie chickens I get at Albertson's. (Well, I never actually weighed, but they're big.

Voodoo is the best in BR IMO.
A co-worker told me to try one of her ribs she got from a guy who cooks outside of a auto repair shop on Plank Rd. I only had one, but I would have paid a lot of $$ for some more.

The two best area BBQ places recently closed. "Porky's Kick-Butt BBQ" on Airline Highway in Prairieville and "Brothers BBQ" on Government Street were the far and away the greatest. "Corky's BBQ" near the Seigen Lane / I-10 interchange is pretty good. Never tried the BBQ place in the Embassy Suites Hotel, but it's supposed to be good.

That Plank road guy is up by Zion City. If you dont know Zion City its just south of Harding.
