Feel like a loser but taking a bus. None in my group wanted to be held responsible for driving.

Where will you be sitting? I don't know if I have enough urine bombs to go around but if you give me an idea of where your seats are I'll be sure to pre-sight your coordinates.

You're welcome to come tailgate with us ... we'll have some orange and blue jello shots waiting for ya!

That said, if it hasn't been mentioned already, musts on GameDay:

1. obviously tailgate and walk around campus and tailgate more
2. see Mike the Tiger at some point right there by the stadium/PMAC (right where the band comes down the hill)
3. watch the band come down the hill a little after 5pm
4. Be in your seats at least 20 minutes prior to kickoff for PreGame

Hope you have a good time! If everything works out, it could end up being the biggest college football game of the year.

You will have a blast. My dad and I are bringing two die hard OU fans to this game and I know they are more then excited. Hopefully it will be a night game and it will be an experience like no other.

[quote]Prepare to be well fed. All you have to do is ask, and the tailgaters will be happy to share their food at no cost.[quote]

On my first trip to BR in '97, some LSU tailgaters offered me some "boudin" as I walked by. I had no clue what it was & seriously thought they were trying to poison me or something before the game. But it was damn good.

Now whenever I pass thru Lafayette, I always pick some up at Don's at the Scott exit.

you will have a great time, IF

1) Get around before the game to meet the LSU fans.
2) During the game, don't do like one Ohio State Fan did. Make an arse of yourself when the score was in their favor screaming shite like "SEC Speed? What SEC Speed". After we were up, that guy made the mistake of returning, trying to complement the Tiger Fans. He was dropped, instantly. And a Tiger fan screamed, "He never saw the speed...". His girl friend picked him off of the ground. LOL
In other words, enjoy the game, don't taunt when emotions are high, unless you can handle someone else's emotions. They do run high during the game.
3)After the game, if you win, be proud and again, don't brag or cause a scene or act like a bad boy. If you lose, drop by a tailgate, discuss the actual game (even they parts that if different would have led to a win for you). You will be feed well and respected as a great fan.

Bottom line...don't taunt a wounded tiger on his turf at any time. This is the ONLY reason I have ever seen bad things occur. Don't ever do that, and you will have the time of your life!

And, welcome to Tiger Stadium!

If you leave NO at noon there is a very good chance you will not get to experience much except for the incredibly awful traffic around BR in general and around campus specifically on such a big game day. I would just walk all around campus checking out all the sights and tailgates. Maybe poke your head into a bar or two around campus if your wandering brings you near one(Chimes, Varsity, Walk-Ons), but you shouldn't need to eat at a restaurant before the game with all the free food that will be offered to you. It really is more fun to tailgate-hop and explore our beautiful campus than to spend much time in a bar or restaurant. Like the others have said, check out Mike's habitat, the parade grounds, the band coming down to the stadium and by no means should you miss pre-game.

LSU fans will return whatever attitude u have back x1000000

If u are a dick we will tiger bait u and get roudy

If you are cool and just act like u wanna hang out u will leave with a stomach full of food and your blood full of alcohol.

1. Get there early, wear comfortable shoes
2. U have to see the band walk down the hill.
3. Mike's cage
4. Pregame band performance

If there's time:
1. Stop by Alex box stadium
2. Plucker's: Nachos and Ranch tossed fries (ur welcome)
3. Mellow Mushroom: Get a shroom tea

As others have said...get there early. Don't bring food or much alcohol. You won't need either before the game if none of you act like dicks. Take the Tigerbaiting with class and enjoy the campus and hospitality. If you do these things you and your friends will have a helluva time.

And you will be back.

Oh yeah. Almost forgot, (this IS the Rant)...frick you, Gator fan!

you and your boys should wear your colors. it is the only way you will be shown any hospitality. otherwise you will just look like locals. there are plenty of tiger fans who will approach you, and ask how you are enjoying your day etc. we love for fans of other teams to go home with nice stories about us. plenty of rv's west of the stadium that will love to see you. when people yell tiger bait, just sorta nod your head and smile. go to E.D.S.B.S. and read about the LSU/FLORIDA game from 2007. very accurate.

You have some very lucky friends. If one backs out, let me know!

Also, don't be hesitant to try anything, no matter what it looks like.

You all have been awesome with your advice. My takeaways:

1) Reconsider travel plans to arrive earlier (will try to do this based on number of comments);
2) Being thick-skinned, cool not a dick (not a problem; I treat visiting fans same way in gainesville)
3) Get in the stadium earlier than I would think (I've heard this before)
4) Have my friends wear some colors (who knows - one could turn out an LSU fan).
5) Eat & drink no issue if you're respectful

Appreciate it. Will also try to visit some of the recommended sites.

jrz1-I've brought at least 20 groups from around the country for their 1st visit to BR and all have said they wish they had drug themselves out of bed in NO earlier to get to BR had they known. Rent a van and leave NO for 9-10, it's gonna take you 2 hours-take the Nicholson (Hwy 73) exit and take the back road in for sure. You leave NO on the bus for 12 you're not getting close to the stadium til 3 at least. It's tough but have one guy stop drinking before/when yall go into the game and 5 hours later he should be good to go on the drive home, or have him sleep in the van for a while til he is-w/ guys that age there is definitely gonna be one who wants a nap.

When you get to the stadium area start by a place called Walk-ons (park around it if possible, its just off Nicholson) and work your way towards the stadium. You'll pass the Game Day stuff and it works well at eventually getting you by the stadium and Mike's cage and then up to the center of campus for more food and parties. You'll be in the right area to watch the band go down to the stadium at 5 and then linger around for a few more coctails before going into the game 30 minutes before kickoff.

God I cant wait...
