A) Paul Allen sucks.

B) Not enough square footage for a Cantina Laredo, though they would be wise to put one somewhere in Perkins Row (I'm not going along with their fake "e" - same goes for Town Center)

Maybe, it's kinda like the Whole Foods/Central Market prepared meals thing. I don't know if Fresh Market offers anything like that, I'm sure they do, but I doubt they'd take kindly to that competition in their backyard.

Cantina Laredo promotes itself as "upscale mexican." Total BS. That place is overrated. And how can any Mexican food be upscale?

By using higher quality ingredients. It might not be authentic but it's not as if really high end Japanese places are authentic either. Same goes for a lot of cuisines....

Seriously, since I am sure they have to put a chain restaurant in there, why not put Chart House Restaurant. It is actually pretty damn good.

Go to a high end place out west.
I have eaten at a few in Mexico. Don't remember all of the choices, but they def. had alot of seafood on their menus and you have some actual sauces that get put on the dishes other than cheap melted cheese and crap salsa that we see on just about everything around here.

The clamoring for chains in BR is unbelievable to me.

I was just wondering that myself.

What is the rent like in PR? Is it just too high for local eateries to pay?

Great idea. I'm willing to drive to Houston if I really want fajitas. It's that good.

You'd be surprised. There is much more to Mexican cooking than just tacos, queso dip, and chips and salsa.

Go to Houston and go to Hugo's. Enlighten yourself.

You are most certainly, not in the know.
