Last time I checked, there are more than 2 guys on a basketball team.

Stupid thread.

I've enjoyed a lot of your thoughts and comments in the past concerning LSU basketball, but this isn't one of them.

LSU doesn't really need "fans" like you. All you are doing is bashing LSU recruits/players for your own idiotic and racist agenda. Go away.

I must be missing something here. TJ has several of the strong athletic type players already committed for 2010 and beyond. Furthermore, if you've seen Derenbecker perform you know he is an outstanding basketball player. Black or white does not matter to a real coach like TJ. Can you play ball and do you want to play for LSU are what matters to him. High character guys who are coachable and can play the game have led several teams to NC at places like Indiana, Duke and yes, Kentucky. A 6'7" guard who can play the point, create his own shot and has NBA range. Nah, I guess you're right. We don't need guys like that.

I can't see us seriously competing with Calipari at Kentucky with 2 white guys from Country Day when he is getting NBA caliber players right and left.

What if the "two white guys from Country Day" turn out to be just as good as Ricky Blanton and Don Redden? Ever seen Blanton and Redden play at LSU? They were the same size as the "two white guys from Country Day."

Why don't you contact our black head basketball coach and inquire why he's recruiting white guys from single A classification schools. I'd love to know what he tells you.........

He said his decision came down to Stanford, Virginia and LSU. He said he liked the LSU coaching staff, led by Trent Johnson, who is a former Stanford coach.

"They believe they can win with the players they recruit, and they are not always recruiting five-star guys, " Derenbecker said. "They have a great comfort level, and they believe in me."

Fine with me. I like that line of thinking

It was Country Day that beat Kenny Boynton's high school team at the Great Florida Shootout, not Derenbecker's AAU team. CD won the Great Florida Shootout and Derenbecker head up beat Boynton badly. It may be a fluke for 1A basketball, but Country Day had an outstanding team last year and could have competed for the state title in any classification. The Boynton/Derenbecker matchup should make for great personal competition the next few years whenever Florida plays LSU.

Ludwig seems like a reach, so I agree with you on him, I would like him better if he was 7foot and I was hoping he would grow to that, there is still a chance he might, he is still only 18, but dude could be a scrapper and hustler, those players are hard to find.

disagree with you on Derenbecker, he seems like a sharp, smart kid with talent. he can dribble, pass, and shoot. he makes teammates look better that are around him, and I hate to throw the these kids, Ludwid and Derenbecker have great fundamentals and don't just get by on talent, but........

So we should only recruit black players. Have you ever seen these two kids play?. Both were recruited by several major colleges.

We should recruit based on talent not on race. Duke and UNC seem to be doing pretty well that way.

enough of the race card.

Rivals

quote:

Markel Brown (2010 Louisiana Select)- Does Oklahoma State ever have a good one in Brown. A bouncy scoring machine, Brown drained three-pointers and attacked the rim authority in a win over Team Texas. And on the defensive end, he was impressive as well. No longer an under the radar prospect, Brown will likely grab a fourth star in the post summer rankings.

Matt Derenbecker (2010 Louisiana Select)- This lefty small forward is a smooth and skilled offensive performer. A sharp shooter who can hit from deep as well as hit shots putting the ball on the floor either direction, Derenbecker can also be a facilitator with his passing ability. Like Brown, Derenbecker will jump into the pos summer rankings.

Apparently he likes some other shooting guards in the Southeast more than Brown and Galloway, and there is probably only room for one more player at the 2 position since both Dotson and Derenbecker can play there.

Saying someone is athletically limited does not mean they are not good (see Larry Bird).

Your racism is palpable and explicit if you believe that even Larry Bird was "athletically limited." If arguably the greatest NBA player that ever played the game is not "athletic," then no white player, according to you, is athletic.

too bad, Okie State gets one of ours as a result, dude could go there and dominate, who knows. Derenbecker because of his ball handling skills could play PG, so he could swing either way.
