allow LSU to compete for an SEC championship or NC in the next few years? I can't see us seriously competing with Calipari at Kentucky with 2 white guys from Country Day when he is getting NBA caliber players right and left. LSU better get some athletes in the fold if they want to compete for a championship in the next few years.

They also started 3 other players that were drafted in the first or second round of the NBA draft 2 weeks ago. Nice point.

Listen closely.

WE WILL NEVER TRY TO COMPETE WITH KENTUCKY AND UNC IN BASKETBALL RECRUITING! Trent got one of the top players in the state that had a very impressive offer list. Quit being a homo.

How does Gonzaga compete? It's 2009, dude. Change your way of thinking. If our coach (who, by the way, is black) thinks they have enough talent, he will try to sign them. In Trent I Trust.

If it all unfolds like it has at Calipari's last stops, NCAA sanctions or troubles have followed. I cross my fingers the same thing happens to that slime at UK.

And imo, we'll stay competitive in the SEC. Trent is a hell of a coach and will build a system here with players that fit his style. We have not had a true system in a while.

Ignoring the ignorant racisim in this thread, you need "solid" guys to build a program around like Tyler Hansbrough, Taz Mitchell and Adam Morrison who will be there for four years and then bring in the lottory picks which helps you compete for championships.

Gonzaga is a much better example than the previous one using Tyler Hansborough and NC. I don't mind having a couple "heady" role players, but you gotta have some athletes if you wanna compete at a high level and make it deep into the tournament. Gonzaga has had a great run in the past 10 years or so, but how many final fours has Gonzaga been to?

I'm not bashing either one of those guys from Country Day. I just want to win, and soon. I would like to see us recruit some Tyrus Thomas/Stromile Swift type post players too.

P.S. These guys are from a 1-A school and they are 6'7" and 6'8" tall. How many other teams in 1-A have two guys over 6'6" in their starting lineup?

See Duke/Gonzaga, ect. Do you want to see good basketball or a dunk contest.

Louisville was probably the most atheltic team last year. they could have used some "limited" atheletes. Streetball is not the answer. Good basketball players are.

by athleticaly limited, do you mean white?

if the question were the other way around, then, OMG..............

You're post topic is rather misleading then.

I seem to remember the great athletes Stromile Swift and Jabari Smith getting their asses kicked up and down the court by a bunch un-athletic white guys from the university of wisconsin.

Saying someone is athletically limited does not mean they are not good (see Larry Bird). It does mean that there are some things that are going to be limited on a basketball court i.e. shot blocking, defensive quickness, rebounding (to some degree). I don't see us having any tall, athletic guys on our current team. I was hoping to get some recruits in this class to fit that bill. I'm not saying don't recruit these guys, but LSU needs some shot blockers on the team too.
