I was driving down to Salt Lake City from Boise last week when I stopped to get gas in Snowville, UT. Snowvilled is just a dot on the map in the middle of nowhere near the Idaho/Utah border. I pulled up to the gas station to see a man sitting on the curb with an LSU hat on. I was kinda stunned at first to see the LSU hat way out here. I talked to him and he was living in Seattle but had hitchhiked to nola for mardi gras and is just now hitchhiking back to seattle. We talked about the Washington game and he said he'll be there for that. I would have given him a lift but I was going the opposite direction. I gave him a dollar and wished him luck. It's awesome meeting LSU fans in unexpected places. Anyone else have a fun story?

Sounds kind of sketchy. How does one decide to hitch hike to New Orleans from Washington?

I've met em in Germany, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Japan, and all over the United States. It's a welcome surprise when you meet them when you are far from Tiger Stadium.

I was on vacation in New York, we went to a game at the old Yankee stadium. Out of the 70,000 people there the guy sitting right next to me was wearing a LSU hat. When I got to my seat, he noticed mine first and said "finally some more normal people". He was from Breaux Bridge.

I've also met them in Disney World and Cancun.

Just got back from an island off the Belize mainland called Ambergris Cay. Second day there, I'm on a hammock under a palm tree enjoying the breeze and a Belikin beer, a boat pulls up and four people step off, two of them are in LSU hats and shirts. Cool people from Kaplan.
Two days later I'm riding a golf cart through town (main mode of transportation) and in one of the shops is a native islander with an LSU shirt on...

Also saw a guy with Virgina hat and we chatted baseball for a few minutes.

Standing in line for customs in Singapore, the guy behind me was wearing an LSU polo shirt - turns out we were in a few ungrad classes together. Small world!

We moved to Colorado last September. It is amazing how many Tiger alum and Fans are way up here. In fact, last week we boarded our dogs in Colorado Springs while we were doing some vacationing in the area and the owner comes out and he is wearing an LSU cap. He and his wife have been living in CO Springs for the last 5 or so years and are from Laf. There always seems to be an LSU connection if you look hard enough, no matter where you are.

Just last week I was backcountry hiking in Denali National Park in Alaksa, the route I was on took me about 50 miles from any roads. I didn't expect to see any people, however I ran into one group of hikers, and they had LSU garb on, the chances of that has to be real slim. Turns out they were from Shreveport area.

We've got a very active group here in the Denver area, if you'd like to join. I live in Highlands Ranch just north of you. If you're interested, send me your email, and I'll put you in touch with our president.

[quote]Good times.

Hi

At a small airport in Colorado, where I was going skiing, I noticed an LSU hat. As my MO to this, I shouted out "Geaux Tigers". Almost in unison, about 100 people answered, "Geaux Tigers". Seems I had just met a small portion of a package trip for LSU students.

Was in the Los Angeles was week and my son was wearing his LSU cap while we were checking into the hotel. The hotel manager walked by and yelled "Geaux Tigers." My son wanted to walk around the USC campus wearing 2009 National Championship Baseball shirts and carrying our LSU flag. Didn't quite make it there.

Last September I was in Middle-of-Nowhere, South Dakota (Population 8,500) visiting a friend. I was dragged to WalMart to go shopping. I was wearing a gold LSU t-shirt. While cruising the aisles, I hear this lady behind me tell her son, "Hey look, Timmy. There's another LSU fan." I turned around and the young lad said, "Geaux Tigers!"

It turns out that they were from New Iberia and her husband was working on the oil pipeline up there. I was the first person from Louisiana they had met in six months of being up there.

This past Father's Day my wife & I were walking through Central Park in NYC and run into a guy wearing an LSU hat. He saw my LSU hat, laughed and said "Geaux Tigers". He was from NY and went to school there, but his Dad graduated from LSU.
