No. because the #1 seed deserves some type of reward. And in baseball, home field is so key. Plus, fixed sites equals less fans and less revenue imo.

Like UNC playing in North Carolina? Do you REALLY think that less fans would come see LSU in New Orleans instead of at the Box?

I doubt they would draw well enough doing it regionally. In basketball, a huge number of the ticket sales are from those that aren't a fan of either team. I think the current system is actually pretty good. As good as it can be for a 64 team tourney in a sport that doesn't have a huge national following

College baseball doesn't have the following for that

Yea, that's kinda my thought process here...there are plenty of "Hosting Cities" like New Orleans that these top seeds have crowds drawing them to. Have one city host two regionals and there would be two supers at one site.

I think you would have to do it like that for it to work. LSU could "host" in New Orleans, Ole Miss in Memphis, UGa and Tech in Atlanta or Gwinett, there could be games in Houston, Cary NC, Los Angeles

a lot of the southern teams are like that...look at the BR regional last year...USM had a fair showing but nothing like they would have had at home and BR is only 2 hours from hattie.

and aside from LSU, USM probably has the best baseball following in the area.

I think it's progressing towards that, but it won't be here for a while. Teams are playing games at pro stadiums more often now but are they really filling them up?

I'm gonna look up the attendance #s from the Houston College Classic this year to see how well they filled up Minute Maid.

ETA: It looks like Rice averaged close to 14k for their games in Minute Maid.
