Guys,
My friend & I have been debating about this for a few days now. I said our record next season would be 9-3 with potential losses to Florida at home plus at OleMiss/Bama Plus @ Georgia.
The reason I say this is we have a new defensive coordinator and coaching staff (on the defensive side of the ball). The spring game did not give us a fair idea of what will happen this season.
Just my guess.

We will probably play in the Cap One bowl against Penn State

My Bowl Predictions

NC: Florida Vs Texas

Sugar Bowl: Ole Miss Vs Oregon

Rose Bowl: USC Vs Ohio State

Orange Bowl: VTech/UNC/FL State/BC Vs Utah/Boise State/TCU

Fiesta Bowl: OU Vs Iowa

Cap One Bowl: LSU Vs Penn state

What you all say?

This is definitely the first time I've heard someone use our new defensive coaches as a reason that we may lose 3 games.

The reason I say that was because we are not sure if the players all got used to the new scheme of things and whether or not it is good

In my book LSU will be the favorite in all the games other than UF. This is whats gonna happen to the rest

You forgot to include the Big East winner in a BCS bowl.

I agree with the 9-3 LSU prediction though.

The defensive scheme will be much simpler and easier to learn than past.....I think our players will have the scheme down pat by game time.

All we're hearing from the players and media is that the system is MUCH easier and players are no longer looking to the sidelines and throwing their hands up in confusion before every play.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go 9-3 too, but I highly doubt it would be because of our new coaches.

Cap One is not a BCS bowl. All other predictions include only 2 teams from the BCS Conferences. May be Big East Champion will play in the Sugar or Orange if they have a overall better record

Will it be easier for the opposition to figure out as well?

I think we can handle everyone but Florida. I don't think we are SURE to lose against Tebow and crew, but I wouldn't be shocked if we did.
And my dream? We play USC in the postseason. Let the beatings begin.

He couldn't figure it out only in Knoxville.

But he did hang 59 on Tennessee in the Swamp in 2007.

So maybe Chavis can continue that next season and shut down Florida at home.

I'd be happy with 9-3...win the bowl 10-3 season.

I see FL as a loss, Bama/Ole Miss loss on the road to one of them, not both. Also think the GA game is a L, we just haven't played them well lately, and they are the only SEC team Miles hasn't beaten yet.

LSU will be 8-4 in regular season due to more spotty QB play with losses to UF, Bama, OM and Arky (again). The defense will be better, the offensive line will be worse, making the running game less reliable which will place more pressure on an inexperienced QB.

I want to be optimistic, but I think when you take the P&G glasses off and look at the schedule, you have to realize that 8-4 is very possible.

Hope so.

Tenn's defense was pretty horrible in 07 though.

9-3 ought to be the obvious guess IMO

challenging games with bama, ole miss, uga, florida, and a decent chance of a surprising team emerging

+1.Of course, I also believe that Florida will lose a game or two, as will Bammer and Ole Mrs. The SEC is just too tough to firmly believe any team can go undefeated. It would be great if the Tigers could do it one of these years but I'll never predict it.
