Pancakes - really good, served with bacon for around $8. The eggs and toast are great too. But the standout on the menu is the steak & eggs ($13.50): it's 6 oz of their skirt steak and 2 eggs, served with texas toast and possibly bacon. The waffles are good too... I really do like it all.

I take it you've never had breakfast in Mexico.

Just Sundays mornings, I believe.

Superior is basically a bar and social hangout that happens to sell sub-par Tex Mex cuisine. Save your money and get a breakfast at Cake Palace.

I know you think you're the expert on all foods south of the border but I love Superior. It's just good food. I don't give a shite if it's not authentic. I've had authentic and I don't care for it. FWIW, you can't get better steak and shrimp fajitas anywhere around here.

that's actually the one thing i do find really good at Superior. The other things i have tried suck pretty hard, but the fajitas are good.

Like Afreaux said, i go there on occasion to sit on the patio and get drunk....food is secondary.

Actually everything on our table was traditional mexican breakfast. Which does not iclude pancakes. You seem to be confused about that
They have breakfast tacos, migas, huevos rancheros and more.

I was with you Afreaux until you hit the Cake Palace. I've done it several times and it really doesn't work. Slow, cold and the place is always a wreck. Not to mention "breakfast in a cup." WTF?

If you stick to coffee and a pastry it's ok. Shame because it could be really good.

They don't offer it at the original in Shreveport. I'm not sure about the one in New Orleans or Birmingham. I just haven't found many other places to get a good Mexican breakfast in Baton Rouge. If anyone knows of a place, please fill me in, i'd love to try it out.

Considering their lunch and dinner is sub-par, I'll skip their take on breakfast.

Not Mexican, but Panaderia Las Delicias on Siegen starts serving Central American breakfast at 6:00AM. At the expense of this sounding cliched coming from me - earlier this evening I spoke with the owner of a local restaurant, the woman who owns Las Delicias bakery is his sister. He asked me if I had a chance to grab breakfast there yet, which I hadn't. He mentioned that they serve eggs, tamal de elote (a sweet non-meat breakfast tamal), and pupusas made with real deal Salvadoran cheese. I knew of the breakfast before, but now I'm sold.

Las Delicias also sells fresh Tres Leches cake (the best in town), pastelitos de guayaba (guava pastries), pastelitos de piña (pineapple), cream cheese empanadas, pineapple upside down cake, Salvadoran pastries, Mexican cookies, cakes and muffins.
