If you were given an 18 year old in excellent physical condition who had lived in a cave all his life and had NEVER done any of these things, which ones would be most difficult to train him to the point that he would perform at a world-class level:

In alphabetical order...

1 Baseball - Fielding
2 Baseball - Hitting
3 Baseball - Pitching
4 Basketball - Dribbling
5 Basketball - Shooting
6 Diving - all
7 Football - Placekicking
8 Football - Punting
9 Football - Throwing
10 Golf - all
11 Gymnastics - all
12 Ice Hockey - all
13 Soccer - dribbling
14 Soccer - shooting/kicking
15 Swimming - all
16 Tennis - all
17 Track & Field - High Jumping
18 Track & Field - Hurdling
19 Track & Field - Pole Vaulting
20 Volleyball - all

#2 is obviously tough - 30% success is outstanding. The others are hard to rank and none of them are easy. Golf is the least physically demanding but requires great precision.

Hitting a baseball at a world class level would mean being able to hit a mid to high 90s pitch, which to me would be the most difficult on that list.

I'll assume you mean learn and be able to perform effectively in competition.

if not,, I don't care ,,this is my list top 5

12- the skating alone makes this a tough one to learn and be able to play effectively,, then toss in all the other skills required.

2 Hitting a baseball is the single toughest thing to do in sports

3 throwing strike and not being pounded ,, almost as tough as hitting

9 throwing a ball accurately under duress, right up there with 2&3

1- Playing infield,, esp SS. not something you can just learn and do, takes years and years to be good at it

13 Soccer - dribbling

I love playing all sports..and to be able to dribble and move around with the ball at full speed is impossible for me to do. I'm always impressed watching breakaways because of this.

Skating backwards, while controlling a puck on your stick, right way to shoot...very very tough.

in my humble unathletic opinion...

hitting a baseball
pitching a baseball
throwing a football
fielding a baseball
playing ice hockey
gymnastics
golf
diving
Then all the rest.
