First, let me start out by saying, this isn’t a bitch and complain thread. The new box is great. But, just like anything else that’s new, there are some kinks that need to be worked out. There are some things that can be fixed or added that will improve the experience of the fans. Just wondering what y’all think they might be. Let’s keep it reasonable.

I’ll start: The new pavilion is nice. Last night during the rain, a lot of people from the outfield bleachers were able to come under the grandstand, watch the game, and stay dry. However, as many of you know, the roof down the first and third base lines stops short; leaving a lot of what would still be considered grandstand area, open to the rain. Not only that, but I found that the water dripping off the roof and onto people trying to stay dry, most of the time, was worse than the rain. I think the roof could and should be extended for situations exactly like yesterday. (And maybe it will be and I just don’t know about it)

Second, not sure how many people were in the grandstand yesterday, (and that’s not where my seats are, just where I went because of the rain). But, when the water comes off the roof, instead of going all the way to the ground, it lands on the concessions level of the grandstand. It then drains towards the field, making big puddles in walking areas and eventually draining down the stands and soaking anything on the ground on its way.

Anything else y’all have noticed?

Seems to be a very true statement. Let's hope they figure something out by tomorrow.

Definitely the roof, it was pouring under the "so called grandstand." The concourse was full of water from this also. They could have atleast temporarily covered this until the new suites were put in.

When I was in the Box this past Sunday I noticed the upper level above my head and wondered if rain would drain down onto the fans. Apparently I was correct to have concern.

If you put it any lower you can't see a fly ball if your seats are high or if your on the concourse.

Are you kidding? Not when there's money to be made for the LSU AD, fan/paying customer health and comfort be damned.

until they get water fountains in the box
you can bring in water as long as it
has not been opened yet. They can't force
people to buy water.

Thats an SEC rule. Not a rule that exists only at the Box.

People had pointed that out on here after seeing the construction pictures on LSUSports.net months and months ago. It's pretty terrible that no kind of drainage solution was put in place to fix that, and poor planning to begin with to have not forseen the problem.

If any casual observer could look at the pictures, see the gap between the roof and the concession area with no kind of drainage system, realise that gravity will invariably pull any rainwater towards the Earth, and realize that people will get wet in that stadium when it rains, how does that one slip by in the planning process?

The prices are way to freaking much for a hotdog and a water dam near $6.00. $3.00 for a bag of candy.

Not enough bathrooms on the left field bleachers / 3rd base seating and only one concession stand as well??????
I like the old way where you had a concession stand plus a box selling burgers to the side of it

Is this true?

Because that is just about the only thing I drink. I'll be bringing my own water.

Is it True?
