Bruce Pearl on Brando Show

I know there is an inexplicable dislike for Tim Brando on this board, but he had a good interview with Pearl this morning (mostly about LSU). It is amazing if Brando hates LSU so much how is that he constantly brings up the LSU basketball team with every college basketball guest he has on his national radio show.
I digress, Bruce Pearl had some very complimentary comments about LSU. He thought regardless of the conference strength that LSU's experience and ability to score, defend and rebound makes them a legit Final Four contender. Believe me I dislike Pearl as much as anyone outside of Knoxville, but he has played a tough schedule and seen some good basketball teams this year, so hearing these kinds of statement from him was encouraging. Pearl and Brando spent basically the first half of their 5-6 minute interview discussing LSU basketball.
I am starting to think this time might be able to put together a deep run. Regardless if the league is down or not this team has shown the ability to win close games even when they are not playing their best basketball.

I don't know why anyone would dislike Pearl. He seems to be a enthusiastic basketball coach. He certainly hasn't done anything against LSU.

No gripe with Pearl, liked Brando until he called us all racists for not packing the PMAC. That was just a stupid thing to say and should have quickly generated an apology, it hasn't so far.

yeah im a big fan of Pearl. Even though its Tennessee, its cool to see someone have that kind of success.

yea i was about to say there is a reason people hate brando now. If he wasn't a arse clown and said stupid shite no one would hate him. as far as pearl goes well he sucks as well

LSU'S chances, as most teams, depends a lot on the match ups. a team with strong inside play, like oklahoma, nc, etc would have a field day with LSU, but i think we could give duke a run for the money

With this LSU team, UNC and Oklahoma are better matchups than Duke is. Duke would take Johnson and Taz outside the block and force them to play outside D. Leaving the lane "Johnsonless" for drives. UNC and Oklahoma would/does not do this.

Brando is an LSU fan, but his job forces him to be objective in his comments...maybe more than objective...to prevent him from coming off as a homer.
Although there is no excuse for the comments he made suggesting that poor attendance at LSU basketball games is a sign of racism, but overall he is a good guy.

He probably wishes that he had said "it" differently, or not at all. This may be his way to "kiss and make up" with out an apology. It would not be as accepted as an apology, but he saves face and hopes it goes away.

I've always enjoyed Brando in whatever capacity he was speaking. I think he's always been a professional, with a little edge to LSU due to his local ties.
But I don't think I will ever hear him the same way after his over the line comments. Just totally obtuse and ignorant statements for him to make.

I know Tim Brando worked in BR, think it was channel 9, lives in Shreveport and I thought his daughter went/graduated from LSU. His recent statement about attendance was totally uncalled for.For the most part seems like a good guy.
Regarding Pearl, lord knows he has got energy. They love him here in Knoxville. At almost every charity event he auctions something to raise money (dinner at his house, come speak at your event etc) also, he now has a smoking hot girlfriend!
