Lber
Corner
Safety
Edge

I've calmed down on the Tyson pick, if he stays healthy dude can be the next Justin Jefferson, I was just very convinced Downs was as cant miss as you can get. My apologies.

Saints still need a ton of help at lber and corner. Safety depth is also a must. And I'm not sold on edge being a strength, especially if cam doesnt come back.

But damn that offense doesnt need shite anymore except time to cook. Lots of young weapons. Lots of dudes with talent in the skill position rooms with rookies to push the vets.

Big credit to Mickey and Kellen Moore for going all in on building the offense through that depth in the draft and fa signings. It seems like we always had incredible depth during the brees years with ufa and late round picks shining.

We do not have roster spots for extra DE's or LB's.

You replace LB from the top. If we "add" a LB then it needs to be an upgrade from Werner and not random depth that won't play. Same thing for DE. And you aren't finding that for DE besides Cam who takes minutes from the other young guys and would cost us money.

We have 0 roster spots at Safety.

We just need to either get Nickel CB or upgrade CB1 and move Kool- Aid to CB2.

That's pretty much it. We don't have any roster spots to do much more.

Do y'all count spots before making these deductions?

If we do create space for vet players then give me Joey Bosa DE/ J Bitonio OG/ B Wagner LB. Bitonio would be the only one worth it IMO.

Where is LB or S a need? We have 5 guys at safety with starts for 2 spots. We have 3 guys with starts at LB for 2 spots. We also have a couple of other LBs behind them that they feel good about.

Edge is still a huge question on depth, even with who we added/had. It may be "solved" or it could still be a hole.

Loomis himself said they wanted to add someone to play star early in the draft and it didn't work out, so that is also absolutely a need. Seems like by far the top need.

We have tons of depth at safety, especially with Blackmon healthy. Reid/Blackmon/Sanker/Howden are four starter level options at safety. Maybe our deepest position as far as proven talent.

DE we replaced Cam with Wilson and at LB Davis with Ellis. We could obviously still upgrade talent wise (especially edge would look a lot better with Cam instead of Chris rumph) but as far as replacing guys who are no longer on the roster we very clearly did that, so not sure the FO will feel the need to make moves there, at least right now. Maybe if camp at starts and one of those groups starts to look like a disaster or if there’s an early injury.

CB is the one spot where I could see the FO still thinking we aren’t done. Obviously have not directly replaced Taylor, and Mickey even made some comments to that effect, I.e that they went into the draft hoping to address CB sooner/more directly but it’s just not the way the board fell.

Not a damn clue. Its the least likely scenario between that or just getting a mid starting Nickel. But it doesn't look like we plan to trade for other spots so if we would be willing to trade future 1sts, 2nds, or 3rds then my bet would for sure be on CB.

Wouldn't be surprised if we roll with Kool-Aid/ Riley and maybe give Howden more duties.

You have 3 of the top 4 remaing FA CB's that have connections to us:

L'Jarius Sneed- LA Tech/ from here
Tre'Daveous White- LSU/ from here
Lattimore- whole career here

High chance that atleast 1 of these dudes comes here for the vet min. Possibly too washed to compete with Kool-Aid/ play outside but can any of these guys find a second wave at Nickel?

The guy from the Raiders is going to take Cams spot.

We have the same backers as last year with Ellis taking DD spot. And Stutsmsn having a year under his belt.

Definitely need another corner. Sneed is the best out there and would start for us if healthy. We have enough safety’s with Blackmon back.

Biggest issue from the draft, wish we would have traded down in the 2nd or third and got another cb. Abney, Scott, Rivers were all sitting there in the 4th and 5th.

KC woukd have flipped with us for just a 3rd or 4th to get Delane.

The Saints did a great job of infusing talent. We were so thin going into the last 5-6 years. Really even at the end of the Brees era.

I'd rather Tre'Davious White > Sneed at Nickel. There were rumors early in the offseason about Marlon Humphries interest for value around a 3rd. Definitely past his prime but could be an interesting option if they circle back to it.

Sneed played at La Tech, not LSU. But I'd like him on the roster. Him or Tre White.

Fixed it. Just sign Sneed and White then problem solved for the short term.

My apologies

Dude don’t apologize. I’m with you questioning the Tyson decision. If you got your quarterback and your tackles and a WR1 but have lots of other needs, a high upside injury prone WR at that spot is a silly gamble, especially in a deep WR year. Tyson has to end up being a top 10 type WR for it to be worth it. Seems like the crowd thinks that’s inevitable but he’s had the trifecta of bone, ligament, soft tissue injuries over the last three years. I’d rather have left with Lemon/Concepcion/Cooper Jr + K Scott/Abney II in a trade down move than have so many chips on the Tyson table.

Your WR1 is in the last year of his rookie contract and also is injury prone. Not to mention WR2s are going for $20m a year in FA.

I like the idea of grabbing Tre White for a year or two.

Which is why the gamble is worth it if it pays off. I was against it but you are talking about a potential Top 5 or better WR duo in the NFL while healthy.

I made a few but I don’t think I posted here. One theme in all of them was take the upside gambles later. Really like Delp, Lance, Styles, Brown picks.
