How would LSU 1st / Saints 2nd fans feel about A&M's Cashius Howell at 42?

The guy from the infamous clips during the LSU/A&M game last year that basically ripped any soul left in last year's LSU team out.

He’s another outlier but man I like him. He’s who I want. He would provide some juice off the edge.

howell would be fun.

likely it'd be a boring arse pick like a tj parker.

smart would be colton hood if available.

His arms are shorter than Bain's.

I like his intensity. He's definitely not an every down player at all, which isn't ideal at 42. Can't play the run or set the edge. But he can get pressure

I like Parker. He can actually play against the run also.

SEC defensive player of the year as a speed rush on 3rd down? Yes please. Could move Grando to DE on obvious passing plays. If Howell can drop back and cover a little like a LB, I'm all in.

Guys like that are better left to the 3rd round and later. 2nd round still has starting talent, especially at the top. If you are picking top 50 you are shooting for an every down starter (not necessarily right away but by year 2 or 3 at the latest).

Granderson is too light to play DE in our scheme. You need heavy boys around 290+ lbs.

I mean...we drafted a guy in the 3rd round last year that never played a down that fits that description

I’m a Gabe Jacas guy

I think Zion will be one of the first guys off when it kicks off

I could see the Saints really liking McNeil-Warren and Jacob Rodriguez

Not on obvious passing plays. Plenty of teams have a "mustang" package for those situations.

I could totally see this and I hope it doesn't happen. That "great Clemson DL" sucked arse. They got manhandled by LSU's worst OL ever.

3rd and longs and late half/game situations sure, but drafting a guy in the 2nd to only come in on maybe 25% of plays in the 2nd round isn't a great idea.

If he is there in the 3rd I'd absolutely look at him.

Yes, 3rd round. I said you take this type in the 3rd, not 2nd. But that guy was also hurt so we have no clue how he will fit in yet.
