Routine traffic stop - Do you have a right to speak with the officer's supervisor?

Speedy - You want to take this one?
These seems to be the go to move lately for every a-hole that doesn't want to cooperate. .
"I want to speak to a supervisor"
So are supervisors required to go visit every traffic citation if being requested?

As a sovereign citizen I do not have to talk to anyone while traveling

Sure.
But it'll just piss the cop off and you' can forget getting off with a warning.
Also creates the opportunity for malicious compliance. "Ok, he's on his way ..." Then he gets there 60-90 minutes later.

I imagine you have the right to ask, but the officer doesn’t have to comply and it doesn’t absolve you from having to follow his/her orders.

all these videos of drivers gone wrong with a simple traffic stop always start with "I want to speak with your supervisor"
It seems to be up there with saying "Do you know who I am?"
Nothing good EVER happens after either one of those statements.

I don’t believe they have to grant that request. Just have your ID, insurance, and registration ready. Roll windows down, turn engine off, and hands on the wheel.
If he wants to write a ticket, the only way out of it is being chill. Make his job easier.

It's amazing to how many people refuse to do this.
It's mostly women, regardless of race.

It could be part of their policy to comply with that.

When I get pulled over, which is really rare, I typically choose to speak to and cooperate with the guy with the gun.
By using this strategy, I have yet to be shot by a police officer.

I usually like to tell the cops I'm drunk...

and if it's dark, turn on the dome light so they can see inside.

Good tip. Last time I was pulled over was on NYE 2025, when a cop in Port Vincent clocked me going 52mph in what was apparently a 35mph zone (had no idea). I really think he was looking for whether or not I had been drinking, though, because he let me go with a warning.
My son was with me, so I decided to do just what the guy before you said - I turned off my engine, rolled my windows down, and had my hands on the wheel with the inside light on so he could see very clearly I wasn't a threat. I explained to my son before the cop walked up what I was doing and why, so he knows not to be afraid of cops and to respect what they do, while not giving one any reason to be afraid of you. I said "yes sir" and "no sir" was was cordial to him the entire time. I explained that my insurance card was on my phone and asked if he minded me reaching for it. I guess you could say it was my way of passing on my white privilege to him.

Is there an application process for this? What documentation (or lack thereof) do I need?

What seat are you in while traveling?

I mean if it’s an unlawful stop and they are asking for ID illegally why wouldn’t I want to ask for their boss?

Let's just assume we're all cops. If someone asks for your supervisor just call me, I will come pretend to be your supervisor.
