Gary Payton’s nickname was the Glove and his mouth was always moving, he has to be the 1 on any list

Deshawn Stevenson isn’t top 5, but he’s slept on for his defensive prowess.

How can you leave Tony Allen off that list?

People forget that Tony Allen had a knack for getting his hand in your face without touching you. Kobe talked about it a decade ago that he could guard him 1 on 1 never ask for help and act as a total pest.

PBev, Bruce Bowen, Tony Allen. And maybe not a "pest" but Scottie Pippen's defense was elite.

Pippen was the best, most versatile defender in the NBA for a decade. 10x all NBA D team, 8x on the 1st team.

Lockdown shite capable of guarding anyone effectively, 1-5. He is arguably the greatest on ball defender in the history of basketball. 6-8 with a 7-3 wingspan.

Yeah pretty much every elite scorer in Tony's generation has said similar things about him.
