Is this stuff only legal when the police does it? Like the FBI and even local police departments have done similar shady stuff for years. Look at Gary Thomas Rowe as the worst example.

I've always gotten the impression that racist people probably look at the SPLC website in order to find out about every obscure racist group with 3 members in their local area that they otherwise wouldn't have heard of. The SPLC is like a free publicity and recruitment service for obscure racist groups.
