VP Vance trip to Pakistan suspended

The vice president’s trip to Pakistan was suspended because Tehran did not respond to American negotiating positions, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the situation said. Still, the trip could be back on at a moment’s notice.

Because we can neither open the straits or eliminate the nuclear program via military force without a ground invasion or else we already would've done so?
We are now in a stalemate where our (real) requirements are not met and we lack the means to achieve them without massive escalation or negotiation.

More fuzzy reporting here. JD Vance is here stateside while Kushner and others went on to Pakistan.
There is something going on with all of this.
Initially it was reported that Vance wouldn't be going due to some security concern. Then they said he was going. Then he wasn't. Then he was and he was on his way there. Then nope, he stayed here and the others went ahead.

We would literally have to insert them ourselves I guess is the reason. It could be done, but the US would be tied to the entire operation.

Blows my fricking mind. As much of a presence that we have there, that they can't bomb everything that looks like a ship along the Iranian cost and blockade anything going in and out of Iran, allowing passage for anything else and then strategically monitor them trying to extract the uranium left from the bombings last year.

Rightly or wrongly, Iran obviously believes that America/Trump don't have the stomach to truly finish them off. That's what they seem to be betting on, anyway.

The fact that he got something out of them at all, without having the threat of genocide, should be viewed as impressive.
