With CAR running hard in squeeze mode, other meme stocks moving now:
Past week:
CAR +90%
BYND +103%
AMC +25%
BULL +35%
BB +40%
OPEN +20%
DNUT +19% (usually a laggard)
GME +7.5% (not a meme stock anymore, retail can’t move it now)
BYND has potential to keep going further here, went to $8 last time

I wonder if Bynd is gonna do the bird pivot
Posted on 4/21/26 at 6:59 am to el Gaucho
They should, it’d be better than their Soylent green meat
Definitely going to be more companies trying the Bird pivot though. It’s the new crypto treasury scheme to drive stock price up

How do ETFs and traditional mutual funds act during memes and squeezes?
Something like VTI that would have Avis in their holdings…do they stop participating or do the get caught up the game?

Most etfs and mutual funds rebalance quarterly or semi annually. So if they had these in their holdings it goes up like anything else. But they aren't adding unless it becomes a larger part of the index.
Granted I'm sure there is a meme stock etf, so I'm talking your traditional tracker types.
Most of these meme stocks are very short lived, and of smaller companies. So most large indexes they may not hold it at all or it's a blip.

I almost went big on BULL in the $4s.
It’s a value play.
Cash to price blew my mind.

But ETFs and funds acquire additional blocks of stocks as they have additional funds. Their acquisition mechanisms are different but their constitutions stating their mix of stock are predefined.

I see NMAX
CAR got destroyed today so memes may get held down. Whole market in squeeze mode though so it’s likely memes start running hot again soon
