Some FAFO stuff right here. Said he’d rather be killed by an elephant than ever shoot one. Well…..

Be careful what you wish for...

Mother Nature, for the record, I'd rather be smothered to death by Sydney Sweeney's chest pillows than killed by a charging elephant.

Live by the trigger, die by the trigger.

How is this a FAFO moment?
Sounds like he’s big into protecting elephants. So much so that he could never harm one by shooting it.
And he walked the walk.
Not to mention the quote isn’t very damning any which way you spin it.

quote:
“In the past, we heard Gary speak of his deep respect and love for elephants. He said he would rather be killed by, than shoot, one,” she wrote on Facebook. “Perhaps this is what I want to believe, but there must have been a special bond, soul-to-soul, for this elephant to be the chosen one tasked with his deliverance.”
Only a woman could say something like that.
My best guess is that the Alpha elephant got tired of this same guy leading a heard of people gawking through their mating area.

He didn't die because he refused to shoot it with his revolver, he died because he was out of the vehicle in the first place. He could have fired every round in his revolver and the result would have been the same.
On our last Safari we were on a path and had a very large bull walking our way. Our driver backed up to clear room on the path but little did we know the driver actually ended parking directly in front of where the big guy intended to go. He calmly walked by us, but so close we could have reached out and touched him.
Being out of the vehicle on a reserve when certain animals are present is foolish. The lion may be referred to as the King of the Jungle but when the elephant walks through, all other animals—including the lion—get out of the way.

“Gary will always remain part of the Klaserie,”
Just another in a long line of "We'll never forget old what's his name?" which is a lie as soon as it's uttered or written.
Even folks important enough to have a statue cast in broze will be melted down when the metals are needed.
Who do we really remember?
Some pre-Egyptian rulers, others whose likenesses were carved on stone walls, And maybe the nameless guy whose body showed up as ice melted in northernmost Italy.
Always should be stricken from our language.

“Gary will always remain part of the Klaserie,” the post concluded.
That’s because there are parts of him squished in the mud.
