He's also a down to earth guy who they don't have to worry about getting lazy, complacent, or entitled because he got a big bag. Dude just loves to play football, fish, and hang out with his family.

With that amount guaranteed, it wouldn't be nice if you are the one signing a whole lot of checks to him if he were to decide to retire next year.

There are protections in place for that. The guarantees are about protecting the player from being cut by the organization. If they quit football, future guarantees are voided and with certain circumstances the team could even go after paid bonuses
