The Angels outfield trio of Garrett Anderson, Darin Erstad, and Tim Salmon played together forever.

The Angels won a lot of games, including a WS, with that core. They haven’t won a single playoff game since they retired.

Damn. Too young. Was an LA kid and got to spend some great years with Angels and became a local favorite. RIP.

Makes me feel old that he was 53. Time flies. Feels like a few years ago I was doing freeze bids in fantasy baseball to have him on my teams.

Very underrated player. Hit around 20 HRs and batted around .300 for a good few years. RIP way to young...

A heart attack at 53 just doesn't sound right. He should have been having regular checkups and his doctors would know his heart condition..
I had him on some fantasy baseball teams of mine in the past. Always a solid player.
RIP, sir.

The “condition” was called too many steroids during his playing days.

Underrated player. I remember when he won the home run derby. And was a key player on their World Series team. I still have an autograph he sent me in the mail when he played.

Nolan Ryan had emergency, unexpected, probably life-saving heart bypass surgery at 53 and he was Mr. Incredible Training Regimen in Special Forces level physical condition. You lose the genetic lottery for cholesterol, etc., and you can check out anytime.

Check his covid vaccination status. I’d bet $100 he was vaccinated and doubled boosted.
