And we’re only halfway through our SEC schedule.

For whatever reason NCAA stats page wont load current year fielding percentage rankings but .962 would have landed about mid 200 range last year after us actually being Top 10 with .981 last year

There were actually a handful of teams to commit over 100 errors last season in 50 or less games

Because this team is not good.

Last year's team won it all.
This year's team will have to buy a ticket and watch from the stands.

It is what it is. We suck.

There was going to be a bunch of turnover regardless, you don't have to frame it as "not being retained". That's what happens when you have a bunch of guys running out of eligibility or are going to be drafted.

Interesting season for sure...

Technically only 9 guys run out of eligibility and what, maybe 5 guys leaving for the draft early that are highly draftable. I'm sure more than 5 (Curiel, Brown, Sheerin, Moore, Milam are the 5 off the top of my head) guys will leave for the draft but wont necessarily be particularly highly taken or maybe taken at all. Guys like Noot, Guidry maybe Caraway on top of them. Probably forgetting 1-2 others. Call it 9 losing eligibility and 10 leaving for draft or so, that leaves us with 20 guys still on a roster of 39. We have ~23 recruits I believe, probably expect to lose a half dozen of them at least. Jay will want at least 8-10 portal guys is my guess.

He's not wrong that I think a lot of decisions will have to be made on guys still.

And there’s a bunch who will have eligibility who will be told to leave because they are busts who JJ missed in his evaluations. No need to keep sugarcoating this.

At this point it’s been discussed, A LOT… but the infield, except Milam, (and the late addition of Braun) has been terrible.

When you remove the seniors and draft eligible players, there aren't a bunch of guys left at all.

I'm not sugarcoating anything. If you're labeling objective facts as sugarcoating, you need to evaluate your outlook.

You're being overly negative because you're a drama queen little bitch who doesn't have two brain cells to rub together and it's easier to complain than it is to actually observe and evaluate.

In the context of this thread (fielding), I'm talking about position players. Caraway is the only fringe guy in that category. The others are freshmen or have shown enough that they won't be pushed out. You could consider Harden as fringe, but with the veteran outfield he hasn't really had a chance to show one way or the other.

I’d love to see a stat for how many catchable balls have popped out our catcher’s mitts over the season. Not talking about wild pitches or passed balls, but dropping balls from inside the catcher’s mitts. We have at least several every game. Our catchers drop routine pitches like I’ve never seen at this level. It’s worse than high school catchers.

Yeah the catchers are most surprising to me - isn’t their main job to…catch?? They are probably responsible for more runs for the opponent than they are for us - that is, I’m not sure their good offense warrants their bad defense (except maybe the Arrambide explosion game!). Surely they are better defensively than they are playing??
