New Orleans Yard Sign Epidemic

I know this isn’t necessarily something new in New Orleans, but the amount of yard signs people have here has gotten out of hand. I don’t remember it being as widespread 15-20 years ago.
Now everyone has at least one sign or decoration for each school their kids go to (the big gay “J” being the worst), the transplant walking krewe they’re in, a political endorsement or stance, a fricking Snowball, whatever.
No signs in my yard, just old glory because I know it pisses off my commie neighbors.

Big Lee was a bully. He constantly picked on his elderly neighbor. The neighbor was a baw, and one day he had enough and packed heat for the next time. The next time came when the elderly neighbor was backing out of his driveway, and Lee sprayed him with a garden hose through his open window. The baw popped a cap in Big Lee and that was all she wrote.
Every time this subject comes up I’m reminded of that old guy and what a hero he is to me.
