In a letter sent Tuesday to Athletic Executive Editor Steven Ginsberg and obtained by The Associated Press, Dianna Russini said: “I have covered the NFL with professionalism and dedication throughout my career, and I stand behind every story I have ever published. When the Page Six item first appeared, The Athletic supported me unequivocally, expressed confidence in my work and pride in my journalism. For that I am grateful. In the days that followed, unfortunately, commentators in various media have engaged in self-feeding speculation that is simply unmoored from the facts. Moreover, this media frenzy is hurtling forward without regard for the review process The Athletic is trying to complete. It continues to escalate, fueled by repeated leaks, and I have no interest in submitting to a public inquiry that has already caused far more damage than I am willing to accept. Rather than allowing this to continue, I have decided to step aside now — before my current contract expires on June 30. I do so not because I accept the narrative that has been constructed around this episode, but because I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career.”

You are at a spa without your spouse being very friendly with a married man

What are the facts?

Not sure fricking the people you’re covering is considered “professionalism.”

Florio made a decent point yesterday that NYT has all kinds of code of conduct/ethics things about staying away from any apparent improprieties. So, even if she didn't actually frick Vrabel, there was no chance she was going to survive this.

And before she tries to spin this as sexist…if you swap her with Adam Schefter then people would still think some weird gay shite was going on

It’s weird how this whole ordeal didn’t get more coverage.

Yeah it looks not great but it's not like he was bending her over in the pool so there's only so far you can take it. If she didn't have all the old podcast clips talking about her husband it would've still killed her career but not gotten as far on the internet.

NFL is about to feel the rock hard dick of the left

If the woman is the only one who suffers her career because of this incident, oh boy.

Nah they've got very different jobs. Also hard for Bob Kraft to take a hard line stance on some sex stuff.

Isn't it a variation of the oldest profession in the world?

Normally I'd agree with you. But the NFL is bulletproof

Good point. The left mob is always interested in context

I find the level of attention it’s getting as too high. Diana Russini is a name the casual NFL fan is not going to know. She got put on blast for sleeping with the Commanders GM years ago for stories. This was all well known about her.
