No clue how this works or who this is, but it’s news nonetheless. I would assume he joins during Fall Practice, but I’m not familiar with the process of committing this late.
ETA: Isaiah Hackett 24/7 Profile
Entered portal 12/1/25 and remains uncommitted.

As long as the player entered the portal during the portal window, there isn’t really a deadline to pick a team other than the school’s educational calendar. He just needs to be enrolled for the fall semester (or summer school).

We need more than practice squad corners. We’re a couple of injuries away at CB from being in a rough spot. If Pickett and/or Woodland goes down you’re looking at Jackson who has his own injury concerns and then probably a freshman in Finney or an experienced converted WR in Turner.

He already has visits set up for Clemson, Mississippi st, Fsu, Uf just to name a few

Finney is supposed to be amazing. Maybe he’ll be a freshman phenom at CB for us.

I agree but Finney is the real deal. Not quite on the same level as Pickett but pretty damn close

He entered the transfer portal in January but hasn't chosen a school and he's looking at LSU for sure

We were already thin at CB, so love this. Not many options left in the portal.

Everyone keeps saying this, and it may be true for boundary CB, but how much real depth at boundary do we actually need?
If we have four startable CBs on the outside, of course assuming no further injuries, that would be enough because there are a ton of nickel and hybrid DBs who will play slot and in 3 safety looks.
So DJ, PJ, Jackson and Finney (and if we sign this guy Hackett) would be a good situation. Most times only two of them will be on the field at one time.
