Favorite Apps for Tracking Calories and Macros?

Prefer it to be free and have the ability to look up meals if I eat out, but seems like that sort of feature is under paid apps; so I don't mind manual entries.
Would also love it I could plug in calories burned from activities if possible. Really just wanting to make sure I am hitting protein markers and in a calorie deficit.
Wondering if yall have any favorites.

MyFitnessPal works when you set your location outside of the United States

I like cronometer . When I used MFP it sucked because they let anyone add anything and it was full of BS data. Cronometer will add, but you have to send in for approvals, seems much more accurate.
Adding there's apps for it which makes it easy, I didn't want to leave that out and just send the link to the web site.

MacroFactor
The AI tool is surprisingly decent to good. Usually make some small edits but captures a lot of ingredients.
ETA: Nm, you said free.

Waste of time, won't be remotely accurate. If you're gonna eat out that day just up your protein and lower your carbs/fats throughout the day to make up for it.

Then it's also a waste of money

Don't do this. Also way too inaccurate and your metabolic rate changes over time. Just use my fitness pal and track your weight then adjust your macros accordingly. Including "burned calories" just adds another variable that you can't control. If you aren't losing weight then you aren't in a deficit so lower the calories more. Don't try to burn your way to weight loss

I have tried most of the ones mentioned here and keep coming back to My Fitness Pal. I use the paid version, but I have heard there is a workaround.
I log my weight daily, and the food catalog is pretty large. Scanning barcodes of ingredients makes it very easy. I eat the same foods for lunch most days so I can just pull it back up each day.
I don't worry about the calories burned portion. I got my TDEE, set my calories below that, and then set the proportions for macros.
I try to stay as close to it as possible, and if I workout that day then I know I am okay to go over by a few calories.
The best feeling of my day is having 100-200 calories left by 8 pm or so, thats when i get a snack

Like others, Chronometer is amazing. Best database I have found. Free version is very robust.

I tried mikes macros based on a recommendation here, stuck with it because I think it’s easier to save a custom meal for the future. If you eat the same stuff a lot saves some time

I tried MyFitnessPal for a while, and it was just a pain in the arse to use.
I started using the paid version of MacroFactor, and the AI does surprisingly well at recognizing food types and portion sizes.
I know you said free, and I tend to not want to pay for apps. But I figured this was worth the cost.
I've gotten a little sloppy with my diet over the past year, and I wanted to dial some things in. Using the app has helped better understand how much I was actually eating. I've dropped 10 pounds over the past 2 months (not just due to the app, but other factors too, but the app does help.)

ChatGPT is great for this. Take a picture of your meal and upload it to ChatGPT with a written description. It will give you an estimate good enough for calorie/macro tracking. I usually just copy the dish description off of the menu and paste it into ChatGPT. I have been doing this for months and it works great.
Here is an example from a recent meal.
