You'd be better off using my high school yearbook quote to discuss that picture

quote:

Jesus died for our sins. Why waste that by not committing any?

It's way easier to fight for your beliefs than it is to live by them.

I don't believe in the Loch Ness Monster, but can discuss it in detail.

I don't support Communism, either, but can give you a detailed breakdown of that, too.

There is a name for people who only study/analyze what they believe in and ignore everything else.

One of many nonsense fair catches in the Christian belief system.

Good point, in the main.

But, for Americans it's far more difficult.

There is definitely some bias against American Christianity, no one can deny that. But American Christians are in no way truly persecuted.

I'm calling him outfor the perpetual fraud that he is. You have every right to see it differently.

This is one of those threads in which I feel old for not being able to figure out what the hell anyone is talking about from a cryptic OP with zero context that could be taken any one of about five different ways.

As the 'cryptic OP' I have to wonder what the mystery is.

Did you read today's headlines? Familiar with the comments of Leo, the pontiff? Familiar with the POTUS tweet, now yanked off social media? Familiar with the criticism POTUS received for that tweet? Does that set up the context of the Gospel quote for you? Are you still with me?

If you're talking about Trump depicting himself as Jesus or a saint, yes. Because it was posted here.

No. There's still about half dozen things you could mean by what you wrote in the context of that picture.

Are you still with me?

I never have been. That was the point.

Let me spell it out for you, regardless of who you're with:

Those casting accusations at Trump need to examine their own motives, conscience, and record. He's a sinner. Yes, we all are.

Jesus verbally castigating the Pharisees now means we should not be outraged at sinfulness.

Nobody here is condemning Trump.

Here is the context

quote:

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 Now [a]early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, [b]this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now [c]Moses, in the law, commanded us [d]that such should be stoned. But what do You [e]say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, [f]as though He did not hear.

7 So when they continued asking Him, He [g]raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being[h] convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up [i]and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers [j]of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

11 She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go [k]and sin no more.”

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
