The chance of getting Iran to agree to any kind of acceptable peace deal is very low.

Any deal worth the paper it’s written on would need to be conditions based and limit or ban all together certain types of weapons that Iran can build or buy. Plus they would need to submit to any kind of snap inspections to make sure they are in compliance along with snap back measures on the sanctions should they fail to comply or refuse any inspections. Iran will never agree to any of that.
The best way to make sure these negotiations are fruitful and get the best outcome is to try to get the stuff I mentioned. If our negotiators can’t then get up and walk out. Have every type of intelligence asset from satellites to humans watching and following these people from Iran to see where they go. Maybe they decide to hold another in person meeting. While they and their Generals gather in their masses to borrow a famous song lyric. Send a missile their way and send them all to hell where they belong. That would be a better result than a peace deal these people will violate the first time American leaders turn their heads in the future.

This is why the IRGC needs to be killed, lock stock and barrel. The Europeans will believe anything, as do most of our previous presidents.

Dealing with Religious Zealots living in the 10th century. They have a blood lust to kill as many Infidels as possible. You can't negotiate with that kind of barbaric mindset.

Agreed, but it was worth a shot. For the benefit of other nations, if nothing else.

There really needs to be no quarter now. Get the ME coalition on board and go to town. Arm the rebels and get this show on the road.
Diplomacy failed as they refused to give up the very reason why we bombed them in the first place.
Game on.

Any deal with a regime like that does not mean anything, just gives them a license to continue doing the same things.

We'll have to kill them.

The only thing that will change Iran's position int he the world is regime change and nothing less.

I have the Sky News app downloaded on my Roku device. I was watching it and a reporter was in Pakistan. He said he had talked to some of the Iranian delegation and they feel like they have won the war.
This reporter said they gave 2 reasons for feeling like they have won. The first was because they control the Strait of Hormuz. The other reason was because Americans are so divided on the war that they feel like that the pressure on Trump will keep him from starting the military action up again.

Iran is not deep enough in the bench for the calling the game. Once OMB reaches that level the sound made wine heard around the world

They refuse to give up on developing a nuke.

If they do agree to a deal, they will break the rules in short order!
I hate it, but we should Keep pounding that place until all evil leaders are GONE....A good percentage of the Iranian people want peace, not the government leaders and military brass.
Sad, but true!

They seem to keep making the same mistake of assuming they know what Trump will do and how he will react. That just causes them to totally miscalculate the whole situation.

This seems right because we don't know who is Iran.

Totally regime change/surrender was and is the only viable option to prevent a nuclear armed Iran with unlimited ballistic missiles and drones.
The problem is people are going to meltdown because they have to pay $20-40 more at the gas pump when they fill up. They’d legitimately rather have a nuclear radical Islamic regime than have to temporarily pay more for gas.
It is what it is. Way too shortsighted.

Firstly, the USN sent Destroyers with mine sweeping rpv's into the Strait of Hormuz today. Second, try and play 4 dimensional chess with Donald Trump and John Caine at your own peril.

Except Iran is getting a lot of pressure from China and other closely tied nations because they can't risk not getting Iranian oil. If Trump destroys Kharg island. Then Chy-na is fooked.

Almost like we should’ve never entered this war
Posted on 4/11/26 at 9:45 pm to Neutral Underground
They should just blow up the island then and keep the strait blocked
Posted on 4/11/26 at 9:49 pm to RollingwiththeTide
Doesn't matter what deal is as Iran will break it as it has every other agreement
