Why did Tanner Reaves not come in after Pearson left for a pinch runner?

Reaves at 3rd and keep Dardar at 2nd. Then stay put and play baseball

Instead we try a "hide the freshman" gimmick and the ball finds him all over the field

I mean did Reaves try to burn down the clubhouse earlier in the year?

Yeah I know Reaves fricks up a lot of shite. But Clauss. This freshman is not at all ready for SEC play (when game tied in late innings).

Simpson and Caraway are hurt (maybe even injured).

I’m suspicious he’s hurt. He’s given Yorke a much longer leash

That’s kind of fair.
I can’t stand Reaves, but given the situation I would have thrown Reaves out there

Because Tanner is far worse than Clauss & Dardar

No clue on their eligibility after this season and I’m just throwing this out there, but is them not being available an attempt to be first into the portal when it opens up in the off season bc of how this season has gone?

Maybe bc Tanner Reaves is better offensively than he is defensively. Keep that in mind and know that he’s batting.200 in the season. Tanner Reaves is a bad bat and worse glove. Are yall just tuning in?

in hindsight, i agree, Pearson would have been fine.

At the time the decision was made, I don't hate getting more speed on the lead runner given the situation.

I sit right beside third base at the box. Last year I watched Braswell,Pearson, reaves take infield almost every home game. When people would say bench Braswell play reaves they obviously never made it to the park to watch him field ground balls. Pearson is away better fielder than reaves and Pearson isn’t great. Tanner reaves isn’t the answer for anything he isn’t good offensively or defensively I’ve watched and watched in person if you bring him in it’s because he knows he has lost. Or is hoping for a miracle he isn’t a good ball player plain and simple.

Let me help all of you on “freshman not ready bull shite”. That is a fricking cop out by soft arse fans. This is game they have played all their damn life and by this point you don’t even think. fricking excuse participation trophy arse society.
A senior outfielder throwing the ball 25’ off line and missing the cut off on a fat fricking slow arse runner is just lazy arse not give a shite baseball.
Missing a bunt that he wouldn’t have had a play at home or first is not what cost them shite. It was all the frick up before then.

You can post that dumb shite afterwards. All you dumb fricks that have the benefit of hindsight should look up the term for that bias and frick off.

All of these calls are risks, but we now have all the evidence ever needed that subbing anyone in the infield for a pinch runner before the 9th inning is a very bad idea with this team. We have literally lost 2 winnable SEC games because substitute infielders made basic mistakes that cost the winning runs.

So frick off with hindsight. What we had was some evidence. Now we have a fully established pattern. You have to adjust conventional philosophy on baseball strategy to your players, and we don’t have the infield talent or chemistry to be fricking around anymore. We just don’t

You are 100% correct. Lester Earl and tigerskin will argue that it wasn't natural for Clauss and that he hasn't played much.

Show me a high school player turning 2 starting by coming from behind 2nd base AND then fielding a bunt down 3rd base line in same inning.

I'll wait

Bro it don't matter where he was positioned at you catch the ball and step on 2B base and at least get the lead runner then throw to 1B. If he cant make that play at this level then he needs to be cut. The moment was too big for Clauss last nite

I did that shite probably 100 fricking times between high school and junior college. That ain’t nothing but a fricking easy arse play or you put it in your pocket. If you’re playing too far back because that was dictated by the number of hours and play on the field then you tip your cap to the motherfricker and let him go to first base.

You don’t try to turn too. You just try to get the fricking out at second base. I’ve seen that done 1000 times by high school kids.
And if you can’t get the out of second base, you throw it to first. If neither are there, you put it in your pocket. Again, it’s not that difficult.
I am tired River Parish league American Legion, which was high school and going into freshman year college players. Saw them make those kinds of plays all the time.
