With Caraway being listed as out for the weekend and Dardar listed as questionable, who do we potentially see at 2B? It'll be interesting to see who Jay goes with if Dardar isn't a go tonight.

Also, what is the issue with Caraway? I didn't realize he was hurt.

Simpson would play 2nd in this scenario, no?

Isn't he hurt as well? Something about his thumb? He's not listed on the report so maybe he's good to go now.

He’s not on the report so I’m assuming he’s good to go

Caraway should be permanently glued to the bench after having one of the worst ABs I’ve ever seen last weekend at Tennessee.

Hopefully Dardar is good to go.

It would be either Simpson, Reaves, or Ruckert although I'm not sure if Ruckert made the travel roster. He might have been added now with Caraway out.

I'd like to see Simpson get a chance. His opportunities slipped without him doing terrible. He just didn't move the needle

IF Simpson is available

He was taking ground balls in the pictures LSU baseball put out yesterday with a piece of tape around his thumb.

And he isn’t on the injury report.

BUT he’s not listed in the injury report which means he’s available

Gosh are some of you stupid?

Jay was only starting Yorke to show we suck with him and need more money to Verge. Genius imho.

lol. Just about every option to play 2B or 3B has had at least one of those at bats this season. Caraway can at least play defense. It sucks that he’s out with Dardar still injured.

In his press conference the other day, Jay answered a question about factoring in defense at first base because Ole Miss has a lot of lefties and they expect the ball to be put in play on that side of the field a lot. Going off that, if Dardar can't start, I think Clauss has supplanted Ruckert as the defensive replacement option at 2nd and could be in line for a start.

Clauss is worth a shot. I was high on Ruckert coming into the season and still think he's going to be a good one. But he hasn't exactly made the most of his opportunities this season.

I agree on all points.

Ruckert has not impressed me in being the "defensive" 2nd baseman. In 15 Chances he has 8 put outs and 3 errors. His fielding % is .800 which there is only 1 "fielder" lower than him and that is Clauss at .750. Everyone else lower than him are pitchers.

I do hope Ruckert comes along but again has not impressed to be able to play as the "defensive" replacement at the end of the game. I believe there was 1 error in two different games that caused double plays being missed and then the other team scoring off those errors.

Mind you a lot of things go into losing a game but both of those played a big part of the two losses that followed the errors.
