Seven Top 25 teams lost on Tuesday to unranked opponents, including Auburn getting run-ruled by Jacksonville State
Is losing to a quad 4 team ok? No
Is this a catastrophic outcome? Also no

Is it ok to do it like, 7 times?

Correct. Having a mid-70s RPI with a little over a month to go in the season is perfectly fine.
This team is only ranked in the polls right now because of the uniforms they wear.

It’s a problem because it keeps happening

How many of those teams have RPIs in the 70s or worse?
Our RPI just dropped from 70 to 75 after the loss. This team cant afford to keep losing mid-week games at this point because of poor OOC play already.
We already need to play pretty good ball the rest of the season in conference play to even have a great shot of making the tournament. This is not a good position to continue to put ourselves into. The RPI will go up because rest of way we play a bunch of high RPI teams, but we still cant just go out there and expect a 13-17/14-16 LSU team is making the tournament if we keep dropping non-conf games. I would rather not see us in a position we feel like we have to potentially win the SECT to lock a spot in the tournament.

And I wasn't saying we would, but we can certainly make it interesting if we finish 14-16 in conference play and an RPI around 45-50 dropping another mid-week game or two.
Every situation is unique and you have to look at it that way. Our RPI is substantially worse than any other SEC team right now outside of the 2 obvious bottom dwellers (USC/Mizzou) and of course the team we lost a series to in Vandy.
Even at 5-7 Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Arkansas (first two WAY better) are sitting in better positions right now than we are.
We will see what our RPI looks like mid-way through SEC play after OM this weekend. My guess is it probably isnt worse than 70 even if we got swept, but getting swept obviously puts us in an even worse spot.
This team has 5 Quad 4 losses already that are basically locked in that quadrant, for reference from 2020-2025 seasons we've never had more than 2. Some of those were 0. This is what has killed our RPI this year more than anything.
Warren nolan is currently predicting us to finish 16-14 in conference play with no more mid-week losses and says our RPI will be 43....14 wins is not a place where we want to land. This is unknown territory for us.

And I thought LSU football fans, including myself, were whiners.

I typically say the same thing, but this year we don’t have that margin for error when we’ve already lost 3 previous to Q4s. THAT is the problem.

The good thing, that you are ignoring, is that the committee is looking at more than just rpi now. That will benefit this bubble lsu team

Auburn's RPI is 5
LSU's RPI is 75

LSU baseball is always analyzed through a championship lens.
Most fans aren’t upset because we lost 1 game, they’re upset because the same issues that have plagued this team all year (subpar defense, can’t throw it over the plate, can’t hit good pitching) are still present.
After this weekend, we’ll be half way through conference play.
Time is running out, and these areas have to improve or else we’ll be on the road for the postseason again like we were in 24.

this was LSU's fifth quad 4 game this year and it is only the first week of April

We pitched none of our main weekend guys, who have been quietly hot the past 3 weekends. Yeskie has proven to put it all together on the mound late in the season, this is what he excels at.
We had good at bats (outside of the three strikeouts in the 7th) the entire game.
Towards the end of the game, we were missing 3 starters from short term injuries. All 3 have been hot at the plate.
Last night was a momentum killer. Still need to clean up the defense, or it will end our season eventually.

Ill save you the suspense, lsu wont be at home for a regional. I can say that with confidence

The most vocal folks on here don't follow anything that goes on outside of individual LSU baseball games.
