If you live in Alpharetta GA and want to vote, you have to visit a mosque.

The horror. You have to go into a building to vote.

There’s only one polling location?

My polling station is a Catholic School

My issue isn't going into a mosque to vote. I'd do it in a vacuum without much bother
But polling places are reflections of what the make up of the community is and what the community values. If we've increasingly got Turkish islamic centers and mosques and Indian community centers or whatever as a reflection of our community institutions, we've clearly failed.
Candidly - a Spanish language church in the borderlands? whatever. Vietnamese community center from the 70s? Fine. Hmong enclave from post-nam, again, whatever.
But there is no reason for us to have large Somali, Pakistani, Indian, Turkish enclaves.

You don't have to convert to Islam when you vote
This story is a nothing burger

This is the problem with social media. 100% not true.

I assure you that Alpharetta GA is not an enclave of immigrants or Muslims. It's rich white people. It's the most affluent suburb of all the ATL suburbs.

so what?
my voting station is a church

Maybe Milton is
But go to Avalon or downtown Alpharetta now. It’s more and more middle eastern people every single month. It’s growing rapidly that direction

No way there is only one location to vote there

Take bacon with you and let them know you will be bringing it with you?

Up until a few years ago my polling location was seriously someone's garage. Like you pulled up to their house and went in their garage and they had the voting machine and you voted. Then they moved 3 smaller districts to a local school

Is that even a mosque?
Posted on 4/7/26 at 1:39 pm to deeprig9
Yeah man I'm familiar with Alpharetta.
Plenty of Persian/Indian/etc. folks throughout North Fulton though. And that's not really my objection, but if the attitude is "well one community center or mosque in each suburb is no big deal" - numbers will pile up, voting and cultural blocs will form, so forth.
I'm sure DFW said the same.
