With all the talent in baseball in this state, they can't field a team that can win consistently. This year they are 4-34 and last year they were 5-45. I know LSU-E is the standard but Delgado and Nunez seem to do very well. It just seems strange they are having a hard time putting the pieces together.

Yes it is JUCO ball but a great starting point for some that still need to develop.

They lost a coach to the Savannah Bananas.

I would imagine they get nearly zero support from the BRCC administration.

LSUE, Jones, and Pearl River get more Baton Rouge talent than BRCC does, year in and year out.

They've had a baseball team for probably 2 decades now and have never sent a player to LSU.

BRCC is notoriously bad at everything. Athletics is the least of their concern.

But I get the OP’s point.

The school is a glorified EBR public high school.

No money, no resources, no care.

Anyone with real talent is going to go to lsue, delgado, or out of state.

Something else to consider, if you have options as a local kid do you really want to play there locally?

So then, who from out of the area is going to choose to play there?

That's really the issue. No one locally wants to play for good reason.

You also have to remember that most 18 year olds want to get the hell away from mom and dad.

What shocks me a little bit is that Nunez has become a legit competitor to Delgado… they’re punching way above their weight

Its a combination of many things poor coaching, facilities, lack of continuity in coaching ,not much of a budget for recruiting or resources, etc. There are some good players there but not enough to field a team. Its a shame because there is tons of talent around BR. You can tell they are not coached very well but who wants to go to the hood and coach a 3-36 team

Im pretty sure the coach was fired before the he took the Savanah Bananas job

I'm going to have to check out the schedule and see if any of those wins are vs. John Melvin and Associates.

LSUS is a 4-year school, so not the same thing as a Community College. Also, they only have 5 kids from LA on the roster, so you are wrong again.
